Will you do the UWSA next? I only learned of their existence a few months ago. And find them fascinating, how they pattern themselves in alot of ways with China's government. It's so intriguing watching their military parades and seeing an army march just like the PLA does, despite not even being in China.

Except Karen people groups, Many EAOs are interested in a quasi federal structure where they could run each ethnically dominant regions as autonomous provinces ( Countries within a Country) or just replacing the Bamar dominated tatmadaw as the dominant ruling group like the Bamar dominated PDF . However whoever is in Power, Border troubles for both India and Bangladesh will be in all headache and I hope Both Countries will continue maintain good relations like they are now to thwart any serious opium and gun smuggling industries.

Basically African Level politics is happening in Myanmar. Govt is worst because of the exploitations and mass human rights violations and resource hoarding. and if overthrown will exile themselves in any rich allied country with the resources they looted. Meanwhile Because of the shitshow , Bangladesh and India are suffering heavily due to it. Bangladesh where Rohingya refugees are becoming economic burden over the Bengalis and on top the Arakan army running gunslingers and drug business along with terrorism in Chittagong and Sylhet division. And also many groups are trying their best to push opium trades and triangles in India's North Eastern states along with gun trades to fund separatist and other terror activities .

Glad seeing Burma back being documented, thanks Ed. Tbh, these details are news to me [so I watched twice.] I do like the series titles, I've been away for a while. Impoverished 'gangster states' do tend to fail over time, but as of now, when Burma finally fails, the CCP will 'help out'. Obviously this would be terrible all round. India needs Burma to be a functioning state & we all need India, so am I missing a link here? Stabilising Burma seems such an obvious & inexpensive _strategic_ opportunity, if nothing else, that it almost hurts. I'll stfu now, it's 0020, 8hrs after. ;)

I fear, that even if these various anti-junta militia are successful in overthrowing the current regime, it'll just devolve into a mess of various factions continuing to fight amongst themselves, and the long suffering civilian population will just continue to suffer. After all... that seems to be the way of "humanity" throughout history. Hope I'm wrong, but.......

Bruh it's not really that deep. The previous government that was arrested by the military was literally created and funded in the united states. obviously the military had to end this one way or another because the government is controlled by foreign powers. And yes like in every other poor countries that's trying to get rid of western influence faces well armed militias and rebels. Like France arming rebels in Niger and Mali because the military overthrew the western backed government. So this little video walks around this fact trying to pin all the blame on China like literally they mentioned only China throughout the whole video while India is also arming the military 🤷. So it's the legitimate military against rebel forces backed by the west. That's why only BBC and CNN journalists films on the rebel side.

@@Ramxie35 What a silly question. FYI I've lived in a constitutional democracy for over 60 years. Name one "federal democracy" that is contending with a dozen armed, organised groups of militia, each with their own agenda while (supposedly) trying to build a stable society. How is the application of an enforced "federal democracy" working for Iraq? Do you remember they tried a "federal democracy" recently in Myanmar, and it devolved back to what they suffer now. You're being naive.

The land to the East of Salwin River belonged to China pre 1897, which was eceded to British Burma. During 1950s border division between Sino-Burma, CCP gave up its claim to those land for its political goals. Even Newin found it was toooooo easy to get those land. Rember it is also part of McMahon line and PRC still has terroritory dispute with India for the McMahon line.

And there are many ethnicities that live both on the Indian and Myanmar side of the Indo Myanmar border like Kuki , Chin , Naga, Mizo etc . And due to war , India has seen lots of influx within these ethnic groups . Also Indo Myanmar border is among the few borders of India, where despite heavy geopolitical tensions , is rarely monitored. (Technically India and Myanmar are both friendies since 1947-1948 but the amount of narco-militant groups operating in between both nations are like in numbers of hundreds)
