I’m so jealous of those gorgeous, endless roads and lack of traffic on them. What a skaters dream!!! Here in Australia, the country roads are that rough exposed aggregate and drivers here would more often than not try and purposely run you off the road of not near kill you. At the very least, you’ll only be verbally abused for daring to use “their” road. 🤦🏻♂️
@FelixRijhnen12 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t sound very nice! It’s not perfect in Germany but if you know the right spots and can accept the occasional angry motorist you can have a good time
@stevej.66742 жыл бұрын
@@FelixRijhnen1 no it’s not very nice unfortunately. Contrary to what’s usually said, the average Aussie (guy) can be a really @sshole. That said, we do have some good bikeways and beach promenades to skate, so not all bad, but country roads are definitely off limits unlike the videos I see of you and the other powerslide guys training on. Anyway, keep the awesome videos coming Felix! Please 🙏

@FelixRijhnen Do you consider high cuff boot to be a no way solution for long distance ? Viktor Thorup consider they shouldn't be used for long distance skating. I am really talking about long distance, not racing. I am a downhill inline skater (15 years) and have a fitness urban freeskate background of 20 years. I am now lurking on low cuff speed boots. But having no ankle support scares me a lot for eating miles. I am also a cyclist (audax and touring), so I am really into lots of miles. Waiting your opinion !
@FelixRijhnen1 Жыл бұрын
Actually there are some really good high or medium high cuff skates out there. For me ley is the room or motion in your ankles. If you can still bend enough and just enjoy the extra support of the cuff there’s nothing wrong with that. If you are looking so shave off some time than you probably want to go away from a high cuff and slowly built down to a medium cuff boot.

I did 124 km on my old Rollerblade 90mm lightning 6 model. Want to get a better setup and try for 150 next season . Not sure what skate to get. Want to have a brake on them because the trail I'm on is short it has 4 roads I have to slow down or stop at . To do 124 km I have cross each one 22 times my wheels would be shot in no time if I didn't. Do you have any suggestions. I was only going for 64 miles because I'm 64 years old got a little more and know I can do better with the right setup. Got the maximum edge 3w 125mm but they hurt narrow fit I have wide foot

I am just about to start my journey of fitness through skating. i have my 3 wheel set up and am looking forward to getting back on skates (used to do aggressive). I am pleasantly surprised to see that it is possible to keep reasonable pace with a bike. Do you have any tips to help with the transition to longer distance skating?
@YSPDJapan4 жыл бұрын
Even if you don't have speed skates you can incorporate a ln efficient push and good body positioning. You can do a double Push with 3 wheeled skates. When I switch between my speed and urban skates the difference in cuff height is what lets me get low and fast in the speed skates, you just can't get the same push with the high urban boot I also have to eat a lot, so pay attention to food intake. If I were even doing a 20 mile skate I'd need to being power bars and gels
