I think Chris is really doing a fabulous job at these audio books. Wish he could have won an award for his performance.

I agree. It's a story of life experiences with some charming attitudes to sharing time and space with others.

My dog Velo 1984-97 had demodectic mange most of her life but most people would never have known because she was on tablets and medicated washes. It's very controllable now and not so much to be afraid of at all so it was very hard for me to process Amber's story. I was shocked, as I never knew it was once thought of as fatal

There is a gap from around 6:21 to 6:59 - obviously it's not too distracting but it does cut off just before the sad story of Amber and her fatal skin disease. If it's on the original source it may be worth making a note in the description as I won't be the last to mention it! Loving the first three parts of The Lord God Made Them All, many thanks.

KZbin cuts out licensed music, that must be the reason

Yes that gap is odd. But it gives us time to blow our noses after the sad story.

These stories are pure joy to me and have been for over four decades. They helped me to survive putting my ungrateful Ex-husband through medical school. Adding to the heartwarming stories of the creatures, the vision of him cross country skiing over the Dales made my heart leap. That would most assuredly be added to my bucket list. I am over 70 years old and had my beloved cross-country skis stolen from me which are too expensive for me to replace now. Why am I increasingly misanthropic but treasure my time with animals and being in nature? Hmmm...go figure

Forgiveness is healing. Try it when you get tired of complaining and blaming others. Then you will have more to give. More to BE GRATEFUL for.

"Grew too fond of her". Nope. Impossible. Did he believe he could love too much ? I dont .
There is no music when you buy ad block. No annoying anything. Nothing to complain about. If you cant say something nice....dont speak. Old adage still holds true.

Worth listening to....however, one gets the feeling that Herriot is having to strain his memory to come up with space-filling anecdotes that would have not been considered sufficiently interesting or illuminating to include in an account of a 'vetin'ry's' life in the Dales, pre-WW2. AND, does anyone else wish that Mr Biggins was either told his calls would no longer be answered by Messrs. Farnon & Herriot, OR that one or both of the them gave him a good thrashing...?
