I visited the Museum at Lambayeque in 2006 and saw the remains of the "Lord of Sipan" with my very own eyes. Much as I appreciate the efforts of the film makers, I couldn't help but chuckle a little at their dramatizations and 21st century interpretation of a culture we know nothing about. It reminded me a bit of the illustrated bibles chronicling the life of "Our Lord Jesus" showing him in a white robe and blond hair. The sense of awe in my own mind about these mysterious figures gets diminished by a feeling of somehow having the inexplicable explained to me. Still a valiant effort!

Not only that, but the westernisation of the interpretation of those people is also quite unpalatable.

Not necessarily, the Oral History has more value than any pictures painted by modern minds, for they are heavily influenced by their "Mainstream Academic 19th Century Theory based Paradigm and Linear Timeline" Note the word Theory. Beth Bartlett Sociologist/Behavioralist and Historian

Great documentary, I liked the work done on the costumes and the sets, although there's obvious creative licence taken with the dramatised scenes considering that the Moche/Mochica had no written language to describe their rituals or religion. Very well done.

That’s actually not true. The Lord of Sipan was found by a grave robber who took the treasures out and shared it with his village. The government then came and shot him dead in his home.THEN the archaeologists discovered it.
