Get ready to return to Middle-earth this summer. 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy is headed back to theaters. Warner Bros. and Fathom Events are teaming up to rerelease the Oscar-winning fantasy blockbusters. The versions screened will be Peter Jackson's extended editions, as well as the versions that the filmmaker remastered in 2020 for a 4K Ultra HD rerelease. This is the first time the remastered films will be in theaters.

Songs Of The South is actually a really lovely film, and isn't racist, in my humble opinion. At least, not intentionally. It might showcase some of the stereotypes that were quite prevalent back then, but *so does The Princess And The Frog* . The "harmful stereotypical accents" used in Songs Of The South were also used in The Princess And The Frog, so it's a nasty double-standard that *makes no sense* ! Not to mention the fact that the gentleman who starred as Uncle Remus was the first gentleman of colour to ever win best actor award because of this performance, and now it's been *wiped away* ! Blooming Disney...

I loved it. And yes, I enjoyed Peter Jackson's movies, too. And yes, I have read LotR, the appendices, and The Hobbit. I've not done The Silmarillion, mind-you, as I don't like that it's unfinished ( 😢 ). Look, it's got things that are different from the source material, but *so does PJ's films. *Especially* his The Hobbit trilogy, which I haven't seen yet but there's not enough content in that book for three movies, come on, and he even added that elf lass and a romance between her and a dwarf, what the heckadoodle?! So ye, Rings Of Power is guilty of changes, but so is your beloved, "perfect" (you didn't say that, but it's the general opinion of the masses) Tolkien PJ movies. So, *why the double standard* ? Either you are fine with changes being made to the source material, or you aren't. You can't have it both ways. That said, I did find Galadriel to be a total Mary Sue lol but there were other characters who had flaws; and I don't mind black dwarves but *no beards on the ladies* certainly made me cringe haha! And too many of the elves *look old* which is stupid because they aren't supposed to age, really. They're supposed to be "forever beautiful" or whatever. Anyway, ye, there were things I didn't like. But there was plenty to love, too! I just had to open my heart and mind to something *new* . Maybe you should, too. PS. I'm gen-z, so I don't have "nostalgia goggles" with the old movies like I think a lot of people do. I think that's where a lot of the hate for RoP comes from. Nothing can ever "beat" PJ's movies because that's what the other generations know and love from when they were younger, and so nothing can ever match them let alone beat them. Everything else is pathetic in comparison. But that's the nostalgia goggles talking! That's my "take", anyway. It's fine if you disagree.

lmao.. after putting out woke 💩nobody wanted to see they are now so desperate to get back money they put one trilogy in the theaters they know will do it.. I'm not complaining this is the best trilogy ever made (and no Godfather fans, you're not even close) but it's pretty obvious why they are doing it.. just don't make any changes to appeal to "modern audiences" because LOTR fans will skin you alive..
