DC Bom That is very true, beating the LOTR is possible but would be way too hard for a different filmmaker to do, especially without copying from the legendary trilogy, I refuse to think of any other film surpassing the Lord Of The Rings, I know other films have come a bit close but can’t even stand a chance, especially when Peter Jackson made the trilogy there was no other film with special magnificence exactly like the LOTR, even being part of the cast for Fellowship Of The Ring, back in 2001 you would already suspect that compared to other films that are being made, this trilogy is going to make an alarming amount of money, you would even know that other filmmakers and actors will become so jealous of The Lord Of The Rings and it might make people want to visit NZ.

16 years later and these movies are still perfect. They will NEVER recapture this magic. Oh they tried, with the Hobbit movies, but it didn't even come CLOSE. And it really says something when Robin Williams himself is proud of Andy Serkis's portrayal of Gollum.

Was a student at UCLA in 2003 and went to check out this premiere. I actually took one of those movie posters on the in the background after it was all done and still have it after almost twenty years! Good times - haha.

They are so right. I watched the movies for the first time earlier this year, 20 years after they were made (when they started shooting I wasn't even alive yet), and they hold up perfectly. I laughed, I cried (a lot) and I'm already looking forward to watching them again as soon as possible.
