Yes, I took great liberties with the lore, and yes I know some of it isn't 100%, but it's close enough that you can't really say I'm wrong, just that I'm not descriptive enough... which is kind of the point!

Techies is a trio, but they themselves think that they are a duo, as they still haven't realized that one of their members (the one in the barrel) is actually still alive. This is referenced in their response after clicking on then several times in game: "Spoon was in the workshop when it exploded, right? Yea, I think so (No I wasn't). You know, sometimes I can still hear his voice." It is ultimately a reference to how the devs of the original Dota 1 map didn't realize that the Goblin Techies was composed of three people until months later, because one of them is a barrel of gunpowder with tiny little feet sticking out so that it can walk.

Fun fact: the heroes Chaos Knight (1:38), Enigma (3:10), Io/wisp (3:46) and Keeper of the Light (4:02) represent Strong Nuclear Force, Gravity, Electromagnetism, and Weak Nuclear Force, aka the four fundamentals of the universe, both in lore and abilities. Also an alternate sentence for Oracle because i find his lore badass. Blue alien casually shatters his dimension's reality and is exiled to DOTA's, because he was tired of being a pet.

Dota 2 lore is absolutely insane. This is why the anime series is less popular than Arcane of league. It requires a lot of context since ingame itself there's Gods, Demons, Primordial Entity, Aliens etc. With only a few of humanlike heroes. Even so they can't just put human together to fight against evil since all of their motives are different from each other. Maybe dota will will do better in mini series to seek a glimpse of heroes past because uniting heroes together is very hard to do

A weird summarized of the Fundamentals: KOTL escape their realm and created the stars and planets and light itself. CK got angry and chases the KOTL throughout different realms. From KoTL light and stars, birth some of the Star Gods and wished to stop the Darkness/Chaos aka CK because they believe its better without it. They forged and make Valora and tasked to stop the Chaos but its hard, so They tell her to kill another fundamental in which is also WAY stronger than the first 2 so yah, IO slapped The Stars killing every single one of those leavibg Valora floating in space and there's Enigma, writting false books just to lure some curious alchemist and wizards only to turn them into his slaves for whatever reasons

They also tasked Valora with retrieving IO, not killing him as they believe that through IO will they be able to bind Chaos forever. No one in the Children of the Light expected that a literal ball would snuff them out of existence and because Valora is connected to them, she just died out like a phone that was out of battery, spiraling out into the cosmos.

All jokes aside, this is why in my opinion, the way the dota anime story was told was not appropriate (although it was a great series tbf) Dota's stories should be told in black mirror kind of way. an anthology makes waaaay more sense with story arcs just sometimes casually crossing paths with each other. it's way too complex to encapsulate in a hero-beats-villain kind of way. hopefully there will be no book 4 of dragon's blood. I would like to see the next story. like PA's tragic story, or PL, or jugg. or maybe some brutal r18 story such as Mogul Khan's murder of his own army. maybe even answer the age old question of "is mercurial really mortred?"

@@TZAR_POTATO Yes and no. Dragon's Blood is just among the other universes that Dota2 (the game) references, and serves to expand on existing lore. One of the references of the game that is in the show is when Terrorblade showed Invoker is various incarnations, and these include his Default skin and the Dark Arts skin. And references of the show that is in the game is when Dragon Knight and Mirana Persona interact with Mirana and Dragon Knight, respectively (makes more sense if it was a default model they interacted), because they both say that they are not their Mirana/Dragon Knight, which supplements the story in the show, and made more sense if it was the default model because those two have never interacted these versions. And those Dragon's Blood persona skins have additional lore to give to certain heroes they interact with like Dragon Knight talking about Wei (Anti-Mage's persona) and Marci's friendship.

the league of legends and the summoner's rift used to be canon to runeterra (lol's world) basically a bunch of all-powerful mages forced all states in the world to stop waging wars under threat of complete and immediate anihilation, and seek arbitration through small scale battles with clearly defined rules (the game) then they realised their hypermilitaristic empire didn't make any sense in that context; nor did their kingdom that genocided mages; also, why does a run-of-the-mill police officer stand any chance against the god that created the universe? so they gave up and retconned it out dota too only makes sense in its own lore if you draft heroes according to their canon allegiances btw, and even then that doesn't explain why everyone is on the same power level

Medusa in dota has a different story than in Greek myths. In the original myths, due to sexism of old times, she was seen as the villain even though she did nothing wrong. Meanwhile in dota she's a hero who gives up her beauty for power to avenge her sisters. Also, weaver is way above a god of the universe. He weaves reality. In fact in his story it says that the babies of the creatures he defends reality from can quickly devour universes.

The Medusa myth can vary wildly depending on the version you're being told. All of the versions say at least that Medusa was a beautiful priest of Athena, who was at some point r4ped by Poseidon inside the temple she was part of, then was made into a half-snake, half-human monster who turns every man who looks at her into stone, making the Medusa myth a cautionary tale about the gods being unpredictable and depraved maniacs. Other versions add more context though, with one of them stating that the priestess Medusa prided herself in her beauty - that she, in fact believed herself to be more beautiful than the goddess Athena herself. To prove this, she decided to seduce the gods, for if she managed to entice one of the gods, that would mean that she was more beautiful than anyone else. This worked well. Too well, in fact, because at some point, Poseidon appeared before her and r4ped her in the shrine, all the while with Medusa pleading to Athena to save her from Poseidon and anyone else. Athena accepted her plea, and saved her by transforming her into a half-snake, half-human monster so hideous that any man or woman who looked at her would be turned into stone from the shock. I think this latter version is better because it sounds more believable.

The universe, in dota terms, is a weird idea, since there's plenty of space outside it. He ONLY screwed over the universe, which is like 10% of existence :D

@@eagleye2893 yes I too have read keeper of light lore but compare to lol lore like “the watchers first light,the darkin war,The ruination like hell even mordekaiser lore was way deeper than entirely Dota lore
