Actually the only hero that says aghanim scepter is faceless void. Sometimes when you buy an aghs on him he will say "ah aghanim scepter!"...this is makesense because void is from a realm outside of time so aghanim s magic to controll the memory of hero doesnt applied to void

Aghanim isn't Pugna. Pugna is a child and has virtually no interest in knowledge, in fact he almost avoids it. Instead of learning a spell that would increase his own power he created a ward, a simple stand still ability that makes enemies hurt themselves in combat. Aghanim would have no need of such a spell, no enemy could defeat him, defensive spells are simply unnecessary. However for Pugna's lore, Aghanim's scepter completely removes a cool-down from an ability, meaning that Pugna has some untold connection with the scepter that no other hero does? Even Invoker, the "most powerful" wizard in terms of knowledge, could not master the scepter to such extent that it completely removes an abilities capped use. Maybe Rubic has a hate for Pugna due to the fact Pugna is an abomination to magic, if i'm correct Pugna powers only come from Nether-Relic's he stole after completely murdering his entire race, He uses magic to cause nothing but mischief instead of using it for a purpose that's useful, or maybe to gain knowledge. Pugna quite literally insults magic and both Rubic and Aghanim's legacy, due to the fact his powers aren't mastered, or even his. Good video, I love the lore shit.

Rubick steal spells with his spell, he made a spell to steal spell not learn them. Because it says 'stolen spell' at the buff icon and the ult name is 'spell steal'. And Rubick has a telekinesis ability so he can move an object with his mind. Maybe... Just maybe, he uses the liquid just to make his mind busy, because he is not dropping a drop of liquid, he instead keeping it there and moving it, always moving it. It's different than Pugna and Viper, they can't control the liquid, the liquid always stream from their body, but they can always have the liquid because they are not human, they can produces the liquid and Rubick can not produce the liquid so he keeps it not to drop. And, Rubick passive ability is magic resistance. The liquid could be a 'good gas' to protect him from a powerful magic. Not a toxic like Pugna's or Viper's has. He create a liquid to protect himself and his mate from powerful magic because he has to make the enemy use the spell before he can steal it. And he knows there's a lot of spell that too powerful for him to deal with, so he made the liquid. Well that was my thoughts, Rubick is my favorite hero in Dota 2, I really like his look, personality, and his abilities. I really liked Rubick A LOT. Sorry for my bad English and don't mind to give what you guys think about my thoughts. Thanks for reading my comments :)

He literally studies their spell and recasts it, and by design of his mechanics (having built in spell amp and aghs being a common purchase on him) he's implied to use the recast ability better than the person who made it. He learns it, masters it, and improves it, all in an instant. That is how he is presented.

Great stuff. I wonder if his "ticks" could have something to do with guarding himself from corrupting nether magic. He has to lose memory of a spell since his power is drawn from the nether, if he consumes too much he would lose himself completely like Aghanim. He has to reset himself periodically to guard against that inevitability. He may be very close to mastering nether if he can successfully guard against it like that. Fun to think about this stuff. This has to be your weakest submission yet Slacks, I loved all of them aside from this one. You didnt even go into the other responses he has, the locations mentioned or the text on the items he had. Nor did you mention that Karl was the only magus that didnt show up to his challenge because he was "above it" and up his own ass. Pugna is a terrible guess on who aghanim is, his lore doesnt even suggest anything close to him being Aghanim.None of his responses suggest it and theres no responses for rubick either, now if you say that the hero wasnt added and the such.Well theres always been responses for heros that arent in the game when the hero was added. Example; Sven had a response that says "I hope it didnt come to this" or Antimage back when he was the brother of terrorblade had a response of his "brother" way before it was added. Rubicks dislike of the two other green heros is because they're pure destruction and pure death, Necro is a psuedo grim reaper who kills all, Including new sources of logic by just existing.Not to mention this guys a walking plauge, the pox he was infected with doesnt hurt him but hes a carrier which threatens everyone. Also both theese heros, Pugna and Necro are the only ones who can reach an etheral state on demand without the use of etheral items. Then you got a temper tantrum giving sadist whos bros with Clinz aka Pugna.Who once had a pet named viper of sorts... Lion is a demon but his talents, skills and magics arent all ment around destruction harm and pain.Turning someone into an etheral pressence without asking then sucking the very essence of a soul is painfull.Blowing them with fowl nether magics when their physical shell/body is turned etheral is painfull. A penalty giving ward that zaps any future magics is also painfull, Pugna is the Antimage/Mage killer thats a hothead. Rubicks other colours are a dark purple/black/blue depending on the items he has.Not to mention his gear is always travel gear, or gear he uses for entertainment or entertaining people.He changes his outfit depending on the region hes in, just like his fathers scepter. Pugna doesnt even recognize his "greatest master pieace" If he was Aghanim.The only other bone guy in the game is clinkz who remembers quite well who he used to be. This went to such a wierd spot that I wasnt expecting. Hopefully you'll come back to this one day or just bury it under your better works. Extra note: I never found rubick actually bound by "spells" hes just bound by techniques, he can still steal fury swipes or the fist of flame.Personally I think he is a creation of sorts by aghanim that roams to find his father and what happens to it, the ancients dragged him in as much as hes a jumpy fella.I see him as someone who cant remember, who has a problem with memory and doesn't remember what happens to his father, so he wants to know and the ancients lure him in that way. The whole response to his fathers scepter was more like familiarity and nostalgia then anything else.Rubick loves magic, he loves to learn, he always forgets, people dont forget him even if he forgets them.

Thing is we don't know ANYTHING about Aghanim.As much as I do concur slacks'es three ancient/Three colour ideas makes sense.If you look into anything related to pugna, Pugna and vipers interactions. Apparently viper studied and learned from the great wizard who imprisoned him.The only thing he could've learned from Pugna is to make his toxin more painful and lethal.Not to mention his imprisonment would probably be a sort of torture. Im not bashing him, just asking for him to put more time and love and not rush his loregasms. His previous ones had alot more heart and soul in them, his head cannon is easily sinkable as I demonstrated.

The Aghanim - Pugna link could be like this - Pugna's lore: "In the realm of Pugna's birth, near the vents of the Nether Reaches, there stood a lamasery devoted to the Arts of Oblivion, which drew its power from the nether energies. The Grandmaster of the temple compound had himself passed into Oblivion several years prior, leaving his academy without a leader." The Grandmaster who died could be Aghanim. And then Pugna replaces the Grandmaster if you see in Punga's lore.. so obviously Rubick can be pissed off that a lame dude replaced his dad in that realm.

Wraith King. He used to be really all in with the reds and stuff, but since being split from his bones and turned into a Wraith he's REALLY GREEN. I'd love to see more discussion on where everyone fits into the Lore, especially since his placement could say a lot about the state of Kingship in DotA2 right now, with the amount of skeletons muckin' about in the battle between Ancients.

Rubick's scepter Active: Lesser spell steal Technically spell steal but the speal you steal has 50%mgc reduction and a lower timespan 20 secs cooldown, 50 manacost And can be upgraded by an aghanim's scepter making it work like spell steal w/o aghs
