Darvin hams offense scheme for AD: get in the paint and try to force throw him the ball. My God ham was so bad.. JJ has AD getting the ball in spots more like jokic does where he has multiple options of attack instead of just "get in the paint and do something"
@AaronPlay
@AaronPlay 3 ай бұрын
To be fair Hamm’s offense often did have solid movement (not this good)… in the first half of games. But later in the season LeBron really slowed things down. Dude was 40, just got tired late in games, and did a lot of holding and running clock. I’m a LeBron fan, but let’s be objective.

My biggest takeaway was how much fun it looks like Rui is having. He looks like he’s enjoying every second of his playing time. Last year, he looked MISERABLE every time I watched this team. Having a coach that knows what he can do, and pushes him to do even more, looks like it’s doing wonders for him. He’s incredibly talented, if an actual coach can just unlock that

I mistakenly wrote him off for a good portion of last year. his numbers were ok, but the eye test while he was on the court failed terribly. looked uninterested, wasn't aggressive, like I said had overall good numbers but just never really felt like he left much of an impact on the court. what a night and day difference competent coaching can make, he looks amazing in the limited sample so far this year! aggressive, pushing the pace, going after his own rebounds, using his frame to get to where he wants to be. really excited for how this season could go for him

He's probably THE defender teams have to change their offenses to play. He is objectively the best rim defender in the league as of right now and without a doubt one of the best help side defenders ever. Literally in this video the Lakers had 5 straight scoring posessions the second Rudy comes off the floor. There are 2 ways teams can attack a big like this. Either stretch the floor with a shooting big and make him choose between protecting the rim or give up an open 3. Or go at him and drag him out of the paint not necessarily to target him, but so the paint opens up by removing his rim protection. It looks like hes getting picked on because they have to.

That’s honestly the craziest part to me when going over this entire first game from them Barely any roster reconstruction, yet it had such a different feel to their operation

This roster gained miles together and matured. If they stay healthy they are legit for the finals. They'll Need to go through Mavs and OKC, but if all goes well it looks like C's Lakers for yet another classical finals

Bron and AD played so many games last year because they stood around and rested on Offense. Expect lower minutes for both - maybe 32-36. Maintaining that for 82 games is tough on those tires....lotta miles on them already.

AD is an all time great big man. the stuff he does at his size is just truly insane, to be able to score on the perimeter like a guard and still dominate the paint.

I appreciate you 👍 glad you enjoyed! Gonna be interesting to watch this team over the next couple of weeks. I think with a bigger sample size of games it’ll become more apparent what their most ideal trade target would look like You’re definitely right about playmaking, can never go wrong with adding more of that

Lakers were already pretty solid in fast breaks and had the points-in-the-paint mentality, BUT didn't have a system to consistently get those high percentage shots and that's where JJ is showing up. Also, fun to see some the of the plays covered in the Mind the Game podcast.

I don't get why ANY team plays stagnant offense. Movement puts pressure on D and wears them down. It also keeps everyone involved, they keep getting everyone into double digit points and lots of shots.

If jj can be half of kerr i can see high potential from 3 point line from LAL as well as some good bench can help with chip. The gaurds and centre are not available to fullfill the role of bench.
This is what happens if you TRASH TALK LeBron James...
