thank you! why is KXX counted as only 2 losers and not three? similarly KX as 1 losers and not two?

The basic idea of the losing trick count is to count the A,K or Q as a winner, and everything else as a loser. *It is not the same as counting your losers when you become declarer* So if dummy has xxx, and you have Kxx, you have 3 possible losers. But during the auction, if you use the Losing Trick Count, you count Kxx as just 2 losers. It turns out that this is quite an accurate (though not foolproof) method of hand evaluation.
