No they don't have the ability to turn into a bat, the first scene is just them flying which we see them do only it's shot from their perspective, the noises are just their to give it an eerie feeling they are not bats in this scene & its never implied they can change into bats. The only thing bat-like about them is that they sleep hanging upside down & that their feet are bat-like. They can't change into bats.

This movie has one of the most legendary endings in cinema history. No romantic goodbye kisses, cliffhangers or terrible puns. Just an old man casually grabbing a beer and complaining about how annoying vampires have always been after taking care of the Lord of the undead and a fade to black. If this is not cinema at its pinnacle, I don't know what it is 🚬🗿

A cool concept I heard onetime was vampires but their powers and weaknesses are only active when they have blood in their system and have relatively recently drank some. Otherwise they are a normal human that can age and die normally. So eventually they could age and die but if they want power and immortality they have to engage in immoral behavior by preying on humans. But it also ads a cool factor of now they can hide and participate in normal society and a balancing act. Because if they want to reactivate their power they got to get over the initial hurdle of hunting and drinking from someone as a normal human when they can be killed like anyone else

I get that being a vampire is a curse but I kinda prefer it when they can still eat food, it's like it makes them seem more human. Got a soft spot for The Lost Boys and its lore. Grew up in "Santa Carla" as a kid, worked at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, hung out at Atlantis comics, it was actually in an old garage pre 89 earthquake, the comic shop in film was dressed up to look like part of the boardwalk. The owner was the hippy dude against the wall. This film had a cultural impact for us gen X'ers and natives of Santa Carla. This film has a great take on vampires. It touched a bit on old mythos while keeping it fresh with a contemporary playful spin to it. Seeing kids on milk cartons and implying they were some undeads hot lunch was a damned creepy but nice touch. If you don't have a physical copy of this film yet, I recommend you buy it. It's definitely worth it. Good story, great practical effects and a memorable soundtrack.

I love League. I was very familiar with most of the league except Alan, so I was ecstatic to see them cast working together as a group. Of course I would have loved to seen more character development for them individually. I thought their individual story lines were well thought out but not enough time in the film to display all of their attributes to their potential. I did enjoy the plot as well, it was a great idea also. It could have been even better with more time. They packed a lot of information into a small package, likely with the hopes of some spin-offs. I was truly saddened that nothing else came from the movie. I'm sure several people felt that way. I would have loved to have seen some origin stories or character specific movies as a result of League. I will continue to love what I have and there's always hope that one of the characters will be explored further in the future.

Its been shown in the comic series as well as the book version that grandpa did have a run in but it was with a different vampire. It was the widow who turns grandpa into a half vampire. The bottles he drinks are actually filled with animal blood and it's also hinted throughout the movie that Grandpa is also seen wearing sunglasses in daylight just like Micheal starts to do after he is turned.

No no no! Why do people these days always have to bring somebody else into it? The Frog Brothers were fine the way they were in the film. Making their parents vamps or half vamps just adds a nonsense layer to an interesting piece of lore. If your parents were vampires , wouldn’t you want to save them and not stake them while they sleep? And if they were turned after they became parents wouldn’t they want to bring the kids into the “vampire life?” They were just waiting till they got to be closer to adulthood. Because when they turned they would stay that age forever.

@@josebrown5961, I never said that they were vampires or that they tried to bite their children. Maybe they are just like the grandpa in the Lost Boys and lives off the animals who he later uses for taxidermy. Remember that Max asked Michael for permission to get into the house, Michael doesn’t own the house but his grandfather does. Also the grandfather left as soon as he saw Max, like he knew what was going on. It could also be the reason why the parents were still alive because the brothers wanted to turn them back into humans again. I don’t want to change the story in any way, it’s perfect the way it is.

I think you might of missed a suggested subplot about the grandfather? I think he might have been half turned as well, but seemed to be unaware of who the head vampire was. He obviously knew about the vampires, had fortified his house against them, seemed to be hiding from them by staying out of town and was oddly stern about everyone staying away from his special “beer”. I think Starr proves that a half breed can stay half breed and even make it a controllable state without actually having to fully turn. Though taxidermy is a hobby for some it is indeed odd, but could also be supplying a source of blood to help quench the grandfathers urge to feed that he hides in his special “beer” bottles???

I think you're looking too much into the blood bottle. I believe it was used as an easier way to trick people into becoming vampires instead. Plus if Max wanted all other vampires under his thrall without making himself known, it makes sense to use a convenient bottle. Second tidbit that i mention whenever i see lost boys get reviewed. The second film features Angus Southerland, Kiefer's younger brother, essentially playing a stoned version of David named Shane.

I feel like there's a certain significance to how Max says it, though. "You're the new man of the house, and I'm not coming in until you invite me." Maybe just getting Lucy's invitation to come over wasn't actually an invitation across the threshold, or possibly it has something to do with the statement about Michael being the "man of the house," and it therefore needing to come from him?

Back when The Lost Boys came out, it was so popular because the Coreys were definitely teen heart throbs, but it hurts to know about all the terrible things that happened to them? They tried warning ppl but of course what a lot of folks do to victims, call them liars and ask "Why Didn't U Say Something Before?" Ppl don't think about how those very important/very wealthy ppl, have a lot of power and can make it look as if a star took their own life? Poor Cory Haim, was consumed by it just like others. He used to be my teen crush, and I never could've guessed that he was going thru the same abuse as I did? RIP - Corey Haim 💔

I really love how the actor who played the Master Vampire, Max, portrays the character as a lovable dork. I've always believed the most powerful ability of a vampire is its ability to blend in, pass as human, and come off as non-threatening as possible. Vampires have alot of powers. Super strength, speed, enhanced senses, regeneration, fangs and claws, shape-shifting, mind control, sometimes magic. However, if ppl know what they are, they become very vulnerable. Sleep during the day, sunlight kills them, crosses, holy water, garlic, can't enter a home without an invite, no reflection, etc. Ppl realize what you are, and then it'll go from sugar to shit real quick. Therefore, the most successful Vampires, the ones who can survive for the longest, are not the most powerful or best warriors, but the ones who no one would even think is a vampire even if they know Vampires are real and about. It's a big reason why I didn't like Jerry from the Fright Night remake. Motherfucker just stood out too much. Nothing against the actor, he delivered a great performance.
