I was very lucky in this respect. I was alive and a child for this movie, and I had 3 brothers. We all picked a Ninja Turtle to be, my older brother was always Raphie, I was always Donatello, with the older of my younger brothers being Donatello, and the youngest being Michaelangelo. We made our weapons, and then had battles out back. Great memories.

Many have confirmed that it was not Hoag's issue with violence in the film that got her booted from the sequel. It was her frequent advocacy for the well being of the suffering actors in the suits, insisting they get more breaks and humane treatment, which hampered production. The woman is a gem, and the story deserves to be told correctly.

Great breakdown. One correction, at 6:10 you say Danny hands off the stolen wallet to Shredder's right hand man Tatsu; but that was just a regular foot soldier. Tatsu didn't wear the leather vambraces the foot soldiers did, also it wouldn't make sense for Tatsu to be directly involved in the petty theft side of the "business". He was too busy grunting and being the trainer for the upcoming hopefuls.

I saw this in the theaters. I bought the VCR copy. I bought the DVD. Judith Hoag dodged a bullet for demanding more money for the sequels. LOL

These are my favorite Turtles in order Leo because he is the leader and always tries to be responsible and set and example for his brothers while still falling short from time to time and having to reconcile with his failures, Donnie because he is the Brains who invents every piece of equipment they use outside of their core weapons yet he uses the lowest tech weapon of the team which encourages him to be more creative with his attacks, Raph because while he is the most hot headed of his brothers i believe he is really the heart of the family and is the most protective of them and Mikey is only last because i just tend to gravitate to the others because of the reasons i gave but Mikey is also great because despite being the most charismatic and laidback of the group he is actually the most skilled of his brothers usually the most difficult to master weapon of his brothers and while Raph is the heart i believe Mikey is the glue that holds everything together cause without him always staying upbeat and providing the most humor in the family everything would just be dark and gloomy most the time and the family would probably fall apart because of it so although he’s last on my ranking he’s probably the most important member of the team/ family.

All four turtles are named after historical painters and sculpters) including Leonardo Di Vinci (full name: Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci), Raphael (full name: Raffaello Sanzio di Urbino), Michelangelo (full name: Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni) and Donatello (full name: Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi). "Di" translates to the word "from" so, for example Leonardo was from Vinci, Italy

This was a great video. I loved the Ninja Turtles as a kid. I watched the animated series a ton. I had the action figures with the carrying case, the Ninja Turtles board games, as well as Ninja Turtles pajamas. When a new convience store opened by us, they had a Donatello mascot come so the kids could take photos. The line was hours long for a Polaroid picture with a person in a Ninja Turtles costume. We didn't care it was the talk of our school for weeks. I also had 2 VHS tapes that had 3 TMNT animated series episodes on them. I must have watched those tapes a thousand times. I watched this film on tape because I was too young to see it in the theater. I watched the second one in the theater. Little kid me thought it was awesome. I watched the first and second movies tons of times. It was an amazing time to be alive and be a kid. Personally, I think this is the best Ninja Turtles movie ever. Even as an adult, I love it. The story, along with it's visuals are amazing. No CGI, and it actually looks real.

Great Video man. This is my 2nd favorite film of all time. Raph and Donny have always been my favs, and this is the best version of Donatello. They really Show his all around intelligence with the jokes and knowledge of history etc. Always thought Raph and Donny would make a great duo. In a way they are both deep loners compared to their brothers. I love how aggressively Donny fights in this movie. His stuntman was on point.

I was ten when I saw this in the theater with my best friend and his little brother and sister. Couldn't stop talking about it on the bus the next day. Turtle Mania indeed! Big part of our lives back then. Thanks for the great vid... neat to see all those Easter eggs that we missed as kids. Even the nightmare fuel.

I was the odd one out, I never really was in to the turtles. The prosthetics costumes just scare me even today. Never watched the cartoon, the intro for me at the time just outright scared me (man was I a scaredy cat!) I know it’s a beloved movie, I’m glad people get so excited for it, and I understand that a lot of folks are kinda mixed on the CGI live action movies and also have high expectations that are warranted. Honestly though, I love production notes about the movie, it’s fascinating the work going in to everything for the film.

Do you like Ghostbusters? What were you into as a kid?
@3xfaster
@3xfaster 10 ай бұрын
@@greenkoopaeh, for a young autistic kid then, not many shows where available to me. I absolutely love ghostbusters, just folks wouldn’t let me watch it when I was younger. Honestly puppets scared me, now they are just creepy, the worst ones where the crash test dummies used in safety commercials. Loved Inspector Gadget, Rescue Rangers, Thomas The Tank Engine… guess I could say I was selective (and of course folks didn’t just let me watch anything without supervision) Outside of that, I would catch snippets of reruns of shows but was never able to follow them because I didn’t understand tv schedules or memorize channels back then and when to flip to my favourite shows.
