You should check out Columbia, California next. It’s a similar ghost town with a lot of mining spots and the best candy shop and sarsaparilla around!

This will be added to my list of places to go for sure. I love ghost towns and have spent a lot of time in places like Bodie up in the sierras. I have never heard of this place, so thank you for this upload! On another note, I'm a fellow creator and with all of the struggles going on with 2020, it's all I can do to even shoot videos. I'm planning a shoot tonight, but my heart just isn't in it. My wife and I have really enjoyed "getting to know" you an Allie over the last three months. Hope you guys are doing ok... Hope you re-enable comments one of these days. Cheers Justin.

Incredible! Aly certainly dressed the part - she fit right in - and looked gorgeous to boot, if not a little heat-worn. Very, very cool old mining town, but a damned shame what they did to the territory. Placer mining was just downright evil. Hope that you both had a very enjoyable visit to your old areas. I know it's not easy to get back up there to visit, so it's nice to see that you did it, virus notwithstanding. Thanks for the sneak preview!

Wow- my wife is from, and her parents still live in Grass Valley. There are actually 2 mines on their property, but he filled in the entrances. But her brother in law IS building a steam train (ridable) track on the property. Can't wait for that to be done!!! OMG i LOVE that book store!!! So awesome!!!

I love this place. I used to vacation so close to there.😁😀. Such great memories.😍😍😍. Such a beautiful place. Have you ever been to a place called Weaverville ca? Massive history in the mountains. Deer run threw the town and the drugstore is still run by the original family that opened it in the late 1800s. The movie theatre is a house and the monks have a Tabetin monistary you can visit with huge statues in the middle of the woods. Hwy 299 is a 2 lane crazy ride from Redding to Arcata ca with big foot statues all along the highway at the road side attractions. Arcata.. which is BEAUTIFUL town by the beaches. Kinda old timey. God bless. Much love from California USA.

You should totally camp at Malakoff Diggins. You get some of really great views of those washed away mountains at sunset. Every time we spot bear families walking down into the canyon. It's also super close to that swim spot, and at night that bridge is the perfect star gazing spot.

I live in Weaverville where the water cannon from our former La Grange Mine is shown at 2:58 of the video. Interesting that the cannon wound up on display down there relatively far away from here. Edwards Crossing is a great swimming spot and definitely a wild bridge to drive across. Recently drove across he Mosquito Rd. bridge, about 40 miles south of there across the S. (?) form of the American River-now THAT was an even wilder and sketchy bridge to cross. You’d love/hate it, Justin.

Ally should have carried a slate and an apple for the teacher. She looked extra cute. I love gold rush country and Malakoff Diggins was one of the first environmental court cases. There are some great shots of a hydraulic mining camp in "Pale Rider". Those hydraulic monitors built up tremendous head pressure, as water was diverted down flumes and into the piping for the monitors. You need to visit the Empire Mine State Park in Grass Valley......in case you haven't already been there.

That's splinter bridge!!! My friend at camp was walking across that bridge barefoot and got a huge 4 inch splinter in her foot whom we later called 'Spike' and also another smaller splinter, and then I got poison oak all over my face! Fun times at camp and the Yuba
