I am currently an undergrad at IIT Kharagpur and was struggling with this for quite some time, i noticed how i was forgetting a lot of things and it took me quite some time to process a lot of things at large, even after studying for a test/exam things weren't clicking and i would go in a void zone of nothingness as if i have forgotten anything or if there was an impedance in my brain that is preventing me to do so, now I've realised I'm not putting my brain to work and not applying any external resistance as told by your piston example, this short clip might just have saved my life. Forever grateful sir.

well it's like speaking a new language or learning how to write an essay from scratch... I totally agree with you SIR, but I think a person can grow this kind of ability ( IF HE REALLY WANTS ) at any stage of their life. For example, many of my seniors learn French in their late forties. Learning new things like this requires deep thinking and a passion to learn new things.

Respected sir, I am a dropout student from an IIIT(indian institute of information technology) i have dropped out as i got notification that jee advanced will have 3 attempts for 2nd droppers in the press release by iit kanpur and today they say there are 2 attempts and i am in phase where i can't go back😢😭 i am double dropper now and again i have to work hard to get that iiit or nit (which is absolutely not worth it)if jee advanced was there it made the point to try but now 😕. Why jab authorities did that 😢 please do something sir if you have something in hand many students are in the same phase as me

Dear Prof. JC, Is it true that students scoring very high marks and ranks in JEE Advanced or at least those who have qualified JEE Advanced struggle too much at IITs and start having counselling sessions or psychologist treatments ? What do they lack because of which they end up in such a situation ? There is something fault in their thinking process, lack of intrest or what, like I'm curious ?

Because you can attend coaching classes for years and crack the exams without passion for the subjects. That person is chasing an IIT tag and social pressure. But reality begins in the classes.

This is actually from Autumn, 2021 when we were doing online lectures. Because I was recording myself, I actually went off on these tangents much less than I do during physical classes. But in actual classes I am more in control, so I have a better gauge of when those tangents are welcome and kind of "needed".

Sir, i often love to go into depth and often try to digest it intuitively, in simpler terms what's actually happening and probably how scientists would have got this method / observation. But due to Exams and different subjects, i often just tend to accept the Concept being taught, instead of cross questioning. Also, i feel that solving more Qs would be a deviation and Getting a thorough Theoretical understanding in more important than solving Qs (even in subjects like Maths). So can you please explain that how Solving Qs , is better than just reading and cross questioning myself.

Deep thinking is important. But should not be done in a way it such it hampers JEE. Questions re most important for JEE. Solve a lot of question. Otherwise you should have become a theoretical physicist or a scientist. If you want jee this is wht you need to do

JC sir, myself a MTech in CAD-CAM under school of mechanical engineering at VIT. I would like to know on how should I begin my journey in the field of computational mechanics ? I have my own reasons to opt for it. If possible can you please make a dedicated video on computation mechanics, areas of focus one must master, and what all one must not miss, to enter into specific works in this field ? I'm asking this because I don't have Computational Mechanics as a program or even as a subject being offered, but lately, I've been involved with FEM and ANSYS Mechanical APDL as well. And I hope there is something worthwhile I can live for.

Lovely video sir , sir i had a question , is it a good idea to go for 2 year Mtech from some other iit like iit bombay through gate, when one is already enrolled in btech program of some other iit , or is it better to stay in same colledge and do Mtech form the same colledge.

If you are in an IIT, you can opt for the Dual Degree programme if it is there. That saves you a year. If not, you can go for M.Tech at another IIT.

Regards sir Having a vast amount of academic confusions . Im currently in grade 9th . Although everyone has and seems it too be relatively simple. But i cant relate to the fact on how to study. i understand physics to its depth , and solve problems without aid and im able to get them right. The thing is how does one revise the conceptual learning he/she has attained and apply it at a later stage , after he has moved on from that specific chapter. The thing is , i tend to confuse , or sometimes even forget the working , the concpetual understanding , and the logic that could be applied to a Q in physics. At a level im confused on how math , and whatever subject with algorithms work . I just cant grasp the idea on if Im required to know steps , to know how to solve a Q , or configuring steps on your own is the key. If that is so , then how does Q sometimes "CLICK" and yk how to solve them ?? That just doesnt happen for me bcs i tend to thunk about a Q again even if i have solved it before sometimes , is it becaus of a lack of concept or memory js needed ? That is where im confused... Would really appreciate your guidance ❤

Sir Till now I strongly believed in iits But now I really hate iits.Till now they didn’t do the third attempt for jee ad that’s fine. But on 5th November the news came out iit Kanpur increase jee advanced attemp two to three ,but after 10-12 days they turn back but whyyyyyy you guys are playing with students feelings That’s a matter a lot Sir please raise voice from our sides .sorry for grammatical error.
