Rick Baker has gone on record regarding the work he did developing the aliens for NIGHT SKIES, the difficulties working with Spielberg, the final falling out they had ( which included Steven screaming, " Goddamnit, you're so difficult!", and stomping out of Baker's effects lab yelling to his assistant, " Go call Rambaldi!" just so Rick would hear. ), and Rick's noticing that the final version Carlo Rambaldi did of E.T. was so close to Baker's NIGHT SKIES aliens that Rick saw specific mechanical mirroring in armatures and construction, as if someone had stolen the designs. It was over a year of Baker's work flushed down the toilet because Steven changed his mind. Thanks to CINEFANTASTIQUE for documenting all of this.

Yes ... and Baker filed a lawsuit because Spielberg did not pay for the work he did to produce the aliens for Night Skies. If he had done it for sure would be a great movie. One of this story is that we were gifted by two great films: E.T. and Poltergeist. \,,/

I guess it was all cool between them because Baker did effects work on the Steven Spielberg Executive Produced Sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch

I recognized the "Scar" figure, it was used in "Fire in the Sky" At least it looks like the aliens from that movie.... which ironically also had Henry Thomas in a supporting role

Very very nice!! I never knew about this. Where did you get the BTS footage from Spielberg's other works?
@drudru19868 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Most of the BTS footage is from featurettes found on the DVDs of Close Encounters, Raiders Of The Lost Ark and E.T.. You can find the original featurette "The Making Of Raiders Of The Lost Ark" on KZbin, though.

This is how ET was born. The "sequel" of close encounters is E.T. The extraterrestrial.

The original idea of e.t. (Alien) was created by Satyajit Ray , he wanted to create it , he talked with many Hollywood studios but it couldn't work .

Spielberg essentially satisfied Columbia's desire for a CLOSE ENCOUNTERS sequel with the 1980 "Special Edition" reissue, which featured a newly filmed extended sequence inside the Mothership. Another reason Columbia chose to pass on E.T. was they already had STARMAN in development and chose to go with that project instead.

Baker spent decades without speaking to Spielberg because he had not paid for all the work in the production of the aliens.

We should cancel the next superhero movie and use the money to make "Night Skies." I mean, it could only be an improvement.

The Kelly-Hopkinsville case was not attributed to meteor showers, horned owls or alcohol consumption. Billy Ray and Elmer Sutton both fought off these creatures that resembled silvery gremlins or goblins and they floated around the farmhouse of Sutton's mother and peaked in windows. There were dozens of these creatures. The Sutton family were religious people and Elmer and Billy Ray worked at a local carnival. Elmer Sutton was haunted by the ordeal until the day he died. His daughter Geraldine wrote two books about what her later father told her of that hot August night in 1955. The Sutton family were made fun of and made a laughing stock due to the media twisting the story around. They eventually moved out of Kelly and Elmer started a family, but the nightmare stayed with him forever.

There are several skeptical researchers who HAVE attributed the case to all of the things listed in the documentary. Please remove your head from your ass and look around.
@imcallingjapan21783 жыл бұрын
The case has been attributed to owls, alcohol and panic or hysteria. Alcohol makes you emotional, credulous and suggestible, and if you're living in the 1950s, you've been drinking, you saw a meteor-like object pass over earlier and then some weird flying animals you don't recognise are flying at the windows of the house where your family is, it would spook the shit out of you and you'd panic.

Your narration... Really has some...odd pauses... In the middle of the... Sentences. Maybe just ... say a sentence in... One smooth sequence.
