Id bet money that the amber room is currently somewhere in europe, owned by a wealthy art collector who has owned the piece since the early 1950s. The controversy and value of the amber room further encourages the current owner or family to quietly keep the prized possession to themselves. It most likely has been handed down to younger generations within a family as people died. You cant easily offer it for sale without advertising that you own it which leads me to believe it has most likely been owned by a single individual for decades. I also think its most likely still in its original form, broken down to individual panels. Unlike gold jewelry that can be melted down while still offering the same value, the amber room is mainly valuable for its architectural design & historic value.

It's a myth, from an ancient eastern sources, there's an actual amber or fully gold covered room as part of the palaces of the Persian empire or the assyrian empire, handed down from King to King through the centuries.. I believe.

40 million, not 60 million years. Baltic amber is not paleocene, it is eocene. And there is no such distinction as "old" and ,"new" Baltic amber. Just exposed and unexposed amber.
