To answer some of your questions: The tiny dinosaurs they young girl encountered were not babies, those are Compsognathus and historically, they were no bigger than your average chicken. However unlike the actual dinosaur, and something the novelization explains that the movie doesn't, is that the Compsognathus are actually venomous. When they attacked mercenary Dieter Stark, as they inflicted numerous bites on him, much like modern-day Komodo Dragons their venom gradually weakens their victim. As Dieter desperately tried to evade them, his muscles were gradually failing, and by the time he pulled himself over the log, his muscles have fully constricted leaving him unable to defend himself and allowing the Compys to kill him. To answer the question of who broke the Baby T-Rex's leg: It wasn't Roland Tembo (Leading Hunter) or his hunting partner Ajay Sidhu when they discovered the Rex Nest. There is actually a deleted scene where Peter Ludlow (Ingen CEO), gets drunk in celebration for their successful dinosaur harvest operation. While attempting to speak to Roland, he accidentally stumbles and falls backwards atop the baby, breaking its leg. Unfortunately however, there is no video footage of this that I'm aware of, but there is a photographic image of the cut scene. Similarly, there is another deleted scene you can actually search for about Roland Tembo. His partner Ajay is tasked with locating him in his favorite bar in Mombasa, Kenya but I'll leave you to watch it for yourself. Although I feel inclined to explain his origins a little. Roland for a grand part of his life had been a big-game hunter. Together with Ajay, they had hunted just about every kind of predator or game this planet had to offer, although there came a time when things became too easy for him to the point where he mentions he and Ajay were but a firing squad. As a hunter doesn't mind when the animal sometimes wins. In the end, Ajay manages to convince Roland to lead Ludlow's expedition by stating that he may have a chance to face his greatest challenge and history's greatest predator, a male/buck Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The Netflix show Camp Cretaceous made it cannon that the Compies are mildly venomous.

The deleted scene at the bar also shows a bit more of Roland's character, as he comes to the aid of a bar waitress who is being harassed by some of the other patrons. This is meant to show that he does have a sense of honor, even if it's a bit old fashioned. A stark contrast to Ludlow's callousness and greed.

Also the ship with T-Rex was supposed to be attacked by velociraptors who killed most of the crew. The film was getting longer and longer, so they did not shoot the scenes of the attack, but they already had the scenes of the aftermath.

Great exposition here, Fernando. My only quibble is that the 'Compys' are not from a 'novelisation' (i.e. a non-existent 'book of the film' but from the original Michael Crichton 'Jurassic Park' novel. John Hammond, the Richard Attenborough character, actually gets eaten by them in the first book. I would also like to add that the underrated Pete Postlethwaite as the boss hunter acts the pants off everyone in this. And taking Mrs Rex to San Diego was not only a bad idea for the expedition, but for the producers too, turning it into a Godzillian farce. I pretty much lost interest in the whole franchise after that.

The Dinosaur that attackes Sarah when she spooked the Baby was a Stegosaurus. Herbivore. But that spiked tail, as you probably guessed, is a weapon used to defend itself and it's young. Normally it would have left Sarah alone until it percieved a threat to it's baby.

One reason for so many night and rain scenes was the limitations of CGI at the time. Both were often used to hide the limitations of the technology at the time. Ludlow, Hammond's nephew was drunk celebrating catching the dinos, and slipped on the mud landing on the baby's leg. At the end of the film, when the baby was growling at Ludlow, it wasn't just being aggressive, it remembered him. The only evidence of the scene is a behind the scenes photo somewhere in the recesses of the internet, but yeah it wasn't Roland who broke the baby's leg at all.

@bobbywise23132 жыл бұрын
In nature predators tend to evolve intelligence to make them better hunters. I think T-Rex was a later dino so more time for intelligence to emerge. I tend to to think the little raptors were probably more intelligent and if not for the demise of dino's we may have seen the emergence of a bipedal dino which could use its hands. Or perhaps highly intelligent flying dino's. Crows, ravens and parrots are among the smartest animals today but without the extinction event 60,000,000 years ago these dinos may have become what scyfi calls reptilians. Of course that would also mean no highly intelligent great apes because mammals would have probably stayed smaller. So today the world could have been a high tech civilization of reptilians. Yes this definitely requires a little imagination and a nature may not have gone that direction but the point is that it could have.
@SleepySloth27052 жыл бұрын
@@bobbywise2313 Actually, due to dinosaurs having limited mobility to their forelimbs, they would use their mouths and feet to manipulate objects like birds do. Their technological advancement would be much slower than ours, because they were already perfectly adapted predators with no need for spears or fire. Procompsognathus may have been about 1.2 meters long (4 feet). A biped, it had long hind legs, short arms, large clawed hands, a long slender snout with many small teeth, and a stiff tail. There was enough fan outrage that Joss Whedon wrote a 2005 movie that wraps up the short lived series.If your looking for rich character development and relationships this is one of the best. The genre is space western. Fox ran the episodes out of sequence, the proper sequence is: "Serenity" (the original pilot episode, not the movie), "The Train Job", "Bushwhacked", "Shindig", "Safe", "Our Mrs. Reynolds", "Jaynestown", "Out of Gas", "Ariel", "War Stories", "Trash", "The Message", "Heart of Gold" and "Objects in Space".

A common misconception is that the t-Rex was the dinosaur who ate the ships crew, when actually it was velociraptors, they stormed the ship and ate the crew. As for where they went they probably got off the ship before it took off and the last guy who died likely started the ship in an attempt to get the ship away from the island and then was eaten. The raptors then would have left the ship and gone back to land looking for more humans to eat. That is my understanding. Or they jumped off half way through the ships ride and drowned in the ocean. Unless they can swim.

Did Sarah join in with Nick's sabotage of the Ingen group? I thought that was all him, same as the rest of the idiocy, like _he_ was the one who brought the baby Rex to their camp, all the while she was asking him what the hell he was doing, and he was the one who sabotaged Roland's rifle so that when the Rex attacked the group he wasn't able to shoot it. It wouldn't surprise me if what happened to the crew of the ship was his fault too.

This is probably the best sequel, but I find 3 to just be fun to rewatch.

I don't understand why some people put this movie down, I've always liked it. Even back when I was a kid, it was one of my favourite movies. It's not as good as the first movie, but it is very enjoyable. My opinion.

19:01 “i guess they’re going to break his leg” They’re going to break something… else. It’s like “make a wish honey”, and then SNAP! I saw this in cinema and this scene shocked me (I was 9 or 10 when it came out), it’s a PG rated film and we see someone get ripped in two. 22:21 “that’s a lot of blood” Yeah, their little mouths are still dangerous enough to cut through flesh and severe major blood vessels. The little girl at the beginning was very lucky to come away with minor injuries. 28:57 his line could have one of two meanings - “I believe I’ve spent enough time in the company of death” as in he’s been around too much death, or “I believe I’ve spent enough time in the Company Of Death” as in he no longer wants to work for InGen as so many have died under their employment.

heh... your response about not wanting the dinos to be hurt but it still killed a lot of people... i think that's the ambiguity that spielberg was going for in this movie and the previous - cuz as destructive and deadly as they are, they're not "monsters".... they're ANIMALS and all the death and destruction they cause are a direct result of the humans doing stupid things and it's not their fault.

"It should be the other way around. It should be, 'Jurassic Park : The Lost World'..." YES! I agree!! That's what I call it, I don't care what anyone says. 😎 If they're gonna lead with "Lost World" they gotta add a "2/II" to "Jurassic Park". They should have done that anyway, too. Like the first Rambo movie which was called "First Blood"... When the sequel came out, they called it "Rambo", but added "First Blood Part II". That's how ya do it, roight?

You should read the books. The first movie was amazing, and this one is pretty good. But they will never hold a candle to their book counterparts. The author paints a more vivid scene of terror and suspense than could ever be achieved on screen. I could not put them down.

If you can, check out the deleted scenes of this movie. they're on youtube. It really gives background to the two characters Robert Tempo (the hunter guy) and the ingen CEO guy and what their motivations where. It sucks that they got cut from the film, good scenes.
