Just finished reading Love Hypothesis. There were just times in between reading that I had to go back and reread some lines from the book coz I felt giddy. Like I want to savour the lines and feel swoony again. My sister always complained about me letting out a supressed squeal always because of the book😂 But, I felt that there should have been a version where we can read Dr. Adam's POV. That would be pretty interesting. 😅❤

I also read both of these books earlier this month!!!!! My top pick of course was The Love Hypothesis 5⭐!!! I didn't love The Kiss Quotient but I didn't hate it...It wasn't very relatable for me, it was hard to put myself in the MC's shoes. And I totally agree that Michael's attraction isn't very believable. I also read the Heart Principle, it doesn't get any better. But the Love Hypothesis...when you said, "My heart exploded, amongst other things." I was thinking oh lordy girl same 🤣 I was shook, I loveeeedd.

The kiss quotient - u mentioned that u read from ur perspective but i feel like i try to exclude myself as much as i can when reading and take the position of the character. I think Michael is a character who has no control over his life , he struggles to pay bills,he has a bad relationship with his father and doesn’t particularly like his escorting job. Stella is a vunreable character whether due to her condition or just pure lack of experience and i think her asking him to teach her and essentially take control of things not only turns him on but triggers that sense of control and he likes it. So when she does something weird or silly or inappropriate i think he gets aroused by the idea of teaching her differently like its another vulnerability he can save her from and teach her. I dont think he does it consciously but I personally think thats why hes so quickly infatuated by her ,she is the only control he has in his life. The book did get cringy tho and has very much fanfic vibes,not the best book but it was what i needed when i picked it up just something silly after reading quite deep and sad books.
@heyhorinshi2 жыл бұрын
Also I think the book caters to people like the f character and be a wish fulfillment thing so all her shortcomings if is doesn’t resonates with you just gets in the way and is a bit of a burden… I agree his attraction should be more cemented but Adam in the love hypothesis isn’t either even by the end where he was in love for her for years before from their one encounter thing… but that read is much lighter and the main character is much more confident…

I loved the kiss quotient. I didn't find it funny though, I found it more sad.

I think Michael likes her even after the kitchen scene because deep down he knew she had Autism. He had been around his cousin and knew people who were like that. And he was filled with guilt for not priming her. I totally bought his attraction to her.

Well, now that I finally read both of the books, I can say that my humble opinion is absolutely contrary to yours 🤣 I absolutely didn't believe the story in Love Hypothesis and I totally ate up The Kiss Quotient story 🤣 So, spoiler alert, I am going to talk about why exactly I didn't like the Love Hypothesis. First of all, Olive is portrayed as a strong, independent, clever female, who always says that she wants to be known for her own merits, and needs no help from others, but when all the sexual harassment happened, it has to be Adam who comes and rescues her and solves the problem. Secondly, I don't buy that Adam fell in love with Olive after seeing her just once crying in the bathroom. Third of all, I have a problem with the physics and biology in this book. Like how is it possible Adam fitted the entire Olive's boob in his mouth? How do Adam's private parts just half fit Olive's private parts? And fourth of all, as a mobile application developer, I don't buy that Olive just left her phone taking video for hours and had not noticed, because a, the battery in that case would go extremely hot due to high energy usage, and b are we sure she has enough space on her phone for such a long video? And c, if she had her phone in a purse or a pocket, the sound caption would probably be awful. Well, anyway, that's the beauty of reading, everyone can have their own opinion.

To explain Michael a little bit more: When people are used to a certain thing they acclimate to it. Ex: michaels pretty privilege. What he liked about stella is that she spoke directly how she felt, to a point it came out so matter of fact that he actually liked it. She doesnt lie in other words. She withholds the truth but doesnt really lie. As for the daddy issues…meh. I kind of agree and disagree. People with parental problems act that way. I know tons of insecure guys who sleep around bc of daddy/mommy issues. So no matter how meh it may come off. To the character it matters. I didnt like the love hypothesis because from beginning to end the book was too self-aware, too quirky, and poorly written compared to the former
