It's so nice having competent, qualified people in positions of power who not only want to govern, but care about getting things done to better the lives of all Americans, regardless of party affiliation. We CANNOT go back to the dark days of Trump, where he'd sling an ambassadorship or advisory role to people like his son's wedding planner because he thought that person was attractive, or because that person once complimented him. Sidenote: I'm from South Bend and I'm still SO PROUD that Pete is from here and was our mayor. I've met him and chatted with him several times, and he is every bit as lovely as he seems.

One has to admit that Buttigieg taking this position in the Biden Whitehouse was a VERY smart decision. It's on the job training vital for a future presidential run. The knowledge he is accumulating will serve him well. The fact he holds his temper so well while others try to elicit an emotional outbursts says a lot about the man. Now he needs experience in military management matters (other then the soldier experience he has now). God bless him!

If you read Bernie’s recent eye-opening book on Capitalism, Pete and Elizabeth Warren as well as the DNC threw Bernie under the bus after he won Iowa in 2016, and got behind Hilary. I'm sending a huge high five to Pete after returning the US after living abroad for 6 years. I bought a RT ticket because it was half the price of a one way. I always cancel my return flight after arriving and getting settled. In the past, I was not refunded for that unflown portion. THIS time, I got the full cost of my return ticket refunded. You must not fly very often. One way for the flight I purchased was $1200 but the airline only charged $850 for a round trip. Are you saying you would pay $1200 if you could only pay $850? How lovely for you if you have that money to spend. There's no scam because cancelations are accepted. That's part of the contract. They provide you with a link and instructions on how and when to cancel. You seemed really upset by this so I felt I should explain it better and I hope I did. His wife probably only tolerates him. Meanwhile Pete and Chasten are still obviously very much in love with each other and their kids adore their dads. The way Pete talks about a basic night of toddler chaos and mac & cheese is with love - you can see it in his eyes.

Pete was the Mayor of my town, South Bend. He made great improvements to our downtown infrastructure changing all the stupid one-way streets to two-way streets. Go Pete!

I'd love to see that as a question in the debates or in townhalls. It's not necessarily arguable, but the answer would reveal a lot about character. The other question I think that each candidate should have to answer is, "What do you love about America?" I'd like to think that what they love is what motivates them to run, and yet so many, starting with TFG, can only harp on what's wrong (or what they perceive to be wrong, often with gross exaggeration - see "American Carnage") and appeal to people's fears and worst qualities.

Former Kotzebue, Alaska, resident here. So glad Secretary Pete got to experience Arctic Alaska. Besides air freight, some Kotzebue residents can plan ahead enough for an annual “barge order”. But all freight that comes by water has to be lightered in 11 miles since Kotzebue Sound is so shallow, making it a very expensive port. And, once something arrives in Kotzebue, that may not be its final destination. Kotzebue is the hub that serves all the smaller villages in that region. Goods may end up being transferred to a small plane, a boat, or hauled to their final destination by snow machine.
