I like Wahlberg as an actor. Especially in The Departed. He's not a very big guy though. Shorter than average and was already close to 40 in this movie. Idk about a 16 year old but an 18 to maybe 25 year old imo would beat up most 40 year olds. They are much more active on average. Plus the dude is wearing an athletic jacket (letter) and if he's a varsity star especially say in football. Much tougher than your average 40 year old. I get it. He's always played tough guy roles but so has Joe Pesci

Mr Harvey has been spying on a couple in the field, for awile. Mr Harvey made the dad chase him into the field, So the boyfriend of the girl would beat him up. Mr Harvey was afraid too. It went as planed because the dad accendently ran into the girl, and the boyfriend thought the dad was after them. That's why he was beating him.

This was a beautiful movie, so unique and just awesome overall. What makes me kinda laugh about this scene is the random epic guitar solo playing in the background as Suzie's dad is getting beat the hell up. I think its poetic that the universe made suzie watch. Think about it suzie decided to stqy in the in between instead if moving on she created and inbalance in both life and death that manifested in her family not being able to move on becuase her energy was still basically there willing them to find out what happened to her. So the universe showed her the cost of her choice.

I know this is a really random thing to notice in this scene, but for once I was thinking, "wow. The Dad doesn't actually have a gun. This is what it's like in Australia!" which is where I live. No I do NOT care about gun laws and have no interest in discussing that issue at all. I guess I'm just not used to seeing movies where the average person doesn't have a gun in their house - so that surprised me! Although as for Mr Harvey (I haven't watched the movie so apologies if I'm wrong), but he seems to me like the type of guy who would want to torture and slowly and brutally kill someone 😕 whereas in this scene I'm GUESSING the Dad is only being violent because he thinks someone has his daughter?
