The Lovers is the best out of all the British sit-com films that were made from the late 60 up to the end of the 70s and if there was a poll of best sit-com film then for me The Lovers would be number one. It doesn’t have laugh out loud belly laughs but what it does have is heart and is like a warm piece of 70s nostalgia comfort blanket wrapped around you. 10 out of 10.

Man About The House also with Paula Wilcox is up there with the best movie spin offs to my mind.. As an 80s kid I only got to see the TV series when repeated on Channel Four long after it ended, so I saw the film first. Saw The Lovers on Grenada Plus and still haven't had the opportunity to see the film version. Had come here looking for it. Apparently it's now on Blu-ray so may order it, to scratch an itch lol
