Thank you! For years I’ve been trying to keep to 1200 without results. The only thing I did notice was thinning hair. My bloodwork has been normal. I’m now slowly increasing my calories and have increased my protein. My weight has remained stable and my hair is coming back! ❤

This is the best video about reverse dieting that I’ve seen! I like the slow approach. I’ve been dieting and constricting food for 30 years, so a year of reverse dieting is nothing 😊

Thank you for this education. How do you correct the weigh gain when you Reverse diet (added calories to quickly )& gained 12 lbs?
@amandanighbert-registeredd42973 ай бұрын
The goal while reverse dieting is not gain more than 3-4 pounds. If you gained more than that then you added calories back too fast. The only way to correct that weight gain is to go back into a cut for 6-8 weeks, and then reverse again but a slower rate.

I have been on a lot of diets and all of them was giving me 1200 calories couple years ago I lost 50 pounds and now I am gaining by a lot I increased it to 1400 calories and started to gain even more so I am really afraid to add more calories
@amandanighbert-registeredd42975 ай бұрын
That's because you have been living in a caloric deficit. adding back calories without gaining beyond your range will take time, 4-6 months. You have to do it very slowly!

Would love to know more about reverse dieting… if you increase your caloric intake, do you also increase your exercise? Are you increasing your protein intake?
@amandanighbert-registeredd42974 ай бұрын
When you increase calories all your macros will increase some. With reverse dieting there is no need to increase exercise but increasing exercise is always a good thing.

It's really hard to play with your calories when you're only 4'10" (tops). I don't know how to get rid of the extra 3-4 pounds I've gained, which really show when you're super short.
@kristinstewart55565 ай бұрын
5’1” here. Most calculators put me at 1300 calories give or take to be in a deficit. I think short people have less of a threshold. Part of my issue is not really knowing how much I burn daily. I tend to rely on my Fitbit. For me, loss is a slow proceess. Did you reach your goal and then try reverse? How much did you add. I’ve played a bit with it and went to 1400-1450. It made me nervous!

@@kristinstewart5556 I sustained an 85 pound weight loss for 14 years. Now for the past six months I've been up 3-4 pounds and it's noticeable in me. I've always strength trained three times a week plus do walking videos every day and eat high protein/low carb. Don't know why I'm carrying this extra weight now and can't get rid of it.

I have a problem. I’ve been counting macros for a year and not lost any weight. I’m 5’8” and 73 and 1538 calories a day with 139 grams of protein. I’m not active but bowl twice a week. I’m on prednisone several times a year for my asthma. Could this be my reason for not losing?

You are no longer in a calorie deficit so you either need to drop calories, or increase activity or reverse dieting for a few months!

Very interesting. I am new to your channel and learning alot already. How often do you recommend weighing ones self while in a calorie deficit?
@amandanighbert-registeredd42975 ай бұрын
Depends on your relationship with the scale. If you have a good relationship and know that it will go up and down then I would weigh 1-3 times a week but do not make any changes for at least 4 weeks. If you have a negative relationship with the scale meaning you freak out if you are up a pound then I would weigh once a month.

When you add in the calories but you’re doing it with macros…. Are you adding the calories in protein carbs and fats? Where are the calories coming from? I log all my macros but I don’t know how to up my macros to give me 100 more calories. Or does it not matter where you get the calories from?
@amandanighbert-registeredd42974 ай бұрын
Your macros are currently set at a specific split. lets say 40% carbs 30% pro 30% fat. When you add 100 calories those calories are distributed into your current splits. So as you add calories there is no need to change your splits.
