Try Storygraph! It's basically Goodreads but has more visual charts and it also allows you to rate .25-5.75. You can add content warnings and moods. It was also created by a woman of color. You can even import your Goodreads library on a computer. I also haven't that many bugs or crashes.

But it can’t rearrange reviews in certain orders and the reviews for Dinosaur Lords is unacceptably low. Pass!

U should totally do more videos on ratings because there really fun to compare to my own ratings and just to see what others think of certain books

I agree with the betrothed in every way. On that “dramatic” scene I litterly skimmed it kinda annoyed by how many pages were left….

After Alice I gave 2 stars when I read it. I listened to it so the language didn't bother me but I believe if you physically read it I would have DNFd it. But yeah having got to the end the way I put it was that Alice had Adventures and Ada had Wanderings. Just no plot. And to back that up, I read it 1.5 years ago and can't remember it at all.

I read The Selection series by Kiera Cass back in 2019, which I enjoyed and if I can rate the series, I would give a 3.5 stars. And I never continued reading her other books because I'm not bothered about it xx

I have read the series called the water song first book is called wake I like the first two in the series but not like the third one. I’m still trying to read the 4 the book called elegy. It’s the longest in the series it’s a mermaid mythology supernatural romance fantasy. I really recommend it if you like mermaids they are sirens in it I hope you would like it.
@mermaden11002 жыл бұрын
I did DNF a book I was in 56 pages into it I couldn’t focus good on the book so it was really long 542 pages and the book is called elegy by Amanda Hocking. But I did try I love the first two in the series’s.

Completely agree on Pride Prejudice and Mistletoe & Kind of a Big Deal! I hated Wicked too and a coworker told me it was her favorite book so I guess that one is divided. Would love a video series on this theme.

I don't like that I can't tell what kind of information they want to gather or what all else besides recommendations it's for without signing up. I wouldn't mind an alt to Goodreads as long as I can port my books over, but I don't need recs and that's all it seems to be for. What's better about it?

Haven't read most of these, but I remember bouncing off Gregory Maguire's writing when I tried one of his books. I remember liking Castle of Otranto, but it's been a few decades. Teen me wasn't the most critical of readers.

I don't mind when people rate books that I love low ratings, but I hate it when they do that and then in the review it's clear that the reasons they think it's a bad book aren't just because it wasn't personally for them (or they don't acknowledge that) and think that there's some like "objective" wrong things. Especially when those wrong things are really unreasonable to me. Like there was this one contemporary with high school age characters and someone wrote a scathing review about how "immature" and "stupid" the characters were when that's literally the point.
@ruby77062 жыл бұрын
i agree! i find this often among works written by BIPOC authors and queer/disabled authors with queer/disabled BIPOC main protag. I remember reading the Fifth Season by NK Jemisin and went to read the reviews and boy, oh boy, it was filled with "i cant believe the child - who is traumatised after witnessing her dad killed his son/her baby brother - is so immature and unlikeable!!" im like.. are we not reading the same book? ur rly gonna rate a book lower because of THAT?

So I really liked Wicked and Mirror, Mirror by Gregory Maguire, but couldn’t stand anything else I read of his. For a while, I had mistakenly thought his were the only fairy tale retellings, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found much better ones lol

I recently unhauled after alice because I didn't remember much about it and when I tried to refresh my memory from reviews I remembered that the writing style was just not it for me, and also it felt kinda MEH. I wasn't pulled in at any point. also, since it was focused on time outside of wonderland, it took away some of the fun of wonderland for me. I love alice, but it didn't feel alice-y to me.

The Betrayed is definitely better than The Betrothed. It still is not that great, but the romance is better and I liked Hollis's character in it more.

I haven’t read after Alice but I generally cannot stand Gregory maguires writing style from when I read wicked (which put me in a 3 month reading slump and made me fail my own readathon)so I probably won’t get around to it ever. Ironically I really like Alice in wonderland when I read it but it has been like 12-14 years cuz I read it when I was in primary school

I rated Castle of Otranto 5 stars because it was gothic horror trash and I loved it so much LMAO. EDIT: The plot made no sense and every woman in the book was fainting every two seconds and it was just ridiculous and I had a great time reading it.
