Still have my Colt A2 from the late 80s. Spent a lot of time in my truck dispatching coyotes & prairie dogs. 🤠

Why kill prairie dogs? Thought they were good for the land natural aeration and soil fertilization etc

The M16A2 Service Rifle is the most accurate general issue rifle ever fielded by any military. Ever.
@MTMILITIAMAN7.627 ай бұрын
Mechanical accuracy doesn't change going to the A4, but putting an RCO on it is like a cheat code. I qual'd expert with an A2 that was older than I was. But I spent most of my time with an A4/RCO, and it just makes everyone more dangerous, regardless of skill. I love the M16 though. Really can't go wrong with any interation. Straight Chad. Alpha. Boss. That's my shit...

I still have an a1😁. Learning to shoot left handed at 62 really sucks but the peep sight helps alot

My retired army grenadier buddy ran through Iraq clearing houses with a 20" m16 with a grenade launcher on the bottom, they fu*k hard. He said he wished he had a shorter barrel until he was actually shooting and being shot at. It didnt matter at that point, he said he was just glad to have a rifle that worked most of the time😂

Don't you know......? Having a 10.3 in barrel with accessories making the rifle weigh 11 lbs. and having no effective ballistics past 150 yards is the cool thing? LOL! Everything has its place. Bust most of us aren't going to need the benefits of a SBR and if we do, we won't live long. Most of us will be better served with the original 20 in. format. It's just not trendy or cool to do so. In a worst case scenario, when individuals no longer have access to UPS, FED EX, re-supply or warranty service. Those that have access to the M16A2 type rifle with irons or ACOG will still be running and functional, when those with a SBR and a trendy Vortex LPVO will be down and looking for a replacement or replacement parts..... for a myriad of reasons. You can't go wrong with a "Service Rifle" like the A2. Just my two cents.

Unless you ride in tracks or are aircrew, there is little reason to utilize anything other than a 20” barrel in the M16.
@noahgarcia-chubb32923 ай бұрын
Agreed but 16” can still poke you at 500 yards and I’ve seen a lot of impressive shots outta some short barrel ARs at 300ish yards recorded don’t forget the standard issue M4 only has a 14” barrel and still put people and critter alike down just fine

I like the long 20 inch barrels on an m16 or AR15. longer barrel improves the power and accuracy.

Go with a higher twist like a 1/9 for less friction for the 20"
@chewcacachewpipi88795 ай бұрын
@@terrytolentino5459 Yeah thing is im one of those ''clooners'' so everything has to be as ''acurate'' as possible. Since the real A2s called for a 1/7 twist, that's what I'm after. But the thing I'm confused about is Fulton's website lists the barrels with a ''.725 gas block''
@LukeD-k7e3 ай бұрын
A 5.56 should not be under 18" it's why so many nations in Europe went with bulllpups and also why alot of NATO AKs have 18" barrels. If it's under 18" it's a compromise for logistical purposes, if you want a short rifle a 10-12.5 7.62 x39 or .300 makes more sense (not a fan of the .300) .277 wolverine (in between a 5.56 and .300 that uses the same bolt, mags and you can refrom spent .223/5.56 cases) is very underrated.

I deployed with a M203 weapon system my first go, off of an M16A2 frame... second go, I have a an M16A4 with a nice vertical grip and the ACOG.... love 'em both. Was in Afghanistan.... running and gunning in the Kush, mostly Peck River and Korengal Valley area and making mostly distance shots. Cannot complain much with either platform. @rolomaticz50094 ай бұрын
I never liked that POS when in the mil (83), the ones I was issued were sloppy made crap and I hate the hard stock. I now have an AR15 and really like it, and probably will replace the barrel with a 20" when it has 2K rounds threw it.
