Great to see the inside of the sheds, as someone who works on professional golf tours across the world, the greenkeepers are always the unsung heroes of golf. I think a lot of golfers take a decent course for granted without realising how much work goes on in the wee hours of the morning/evening. Certainly a video the "Greens Committee" of every club should be watching, far too many 20 h'cap armchair experts that know far more than the professional greens keepers....

Good insightful video mate. My old employers helped build one in County Durham, England in the 90s.Very few golf courses turn a profit. They are usually subsidised from adjoining hotels or rich owners or they get lucky and get a major tournament there. They are a very expensive business.

Hi, great videos as always. Watch every one on them. A video idea i would be very interested in as a newbie when it comes to lawn care would be coming into spring what is the best sequence or lawn treatments. When to first cut, treat weeds, over seed, topdress, fertilize and so on. Also on a separate question. My area suffers really really bad with moss so much so i had to dig up my whole back garden and start from scratch with new grass. My back garden is farily shaded so moss grows very quickly. Do you think if i was to topdress with lawn sand would this help slow down moss growth over topdressing with soil? Again thanks for all the great content. Advid follower👍

@@bennagle1986 use soil to topdress, sand is no good for the majority of lawns. You can cut the lawn as long as its not to wet or frost.

Greens staff are notoriously badly paid. The managers / supervisor enjoy a good wage. The mechanics are probably on the right money. One of the reasons for me to leave the industry, I did 20 years

It really will depend on what they have on, in the run up to the open last year at Portrush they had over 50 green keepers!

darcy double washed sand..proper sand he said..yeah mate...kids playsand is the same gear.its screened silica thats white from a beach .the less white it is. the worse it is.it contains more crushed rock and different rocks have different ph..you want quartz and silica..we dont need tons.. we have gardens..buy a few bags of play sand .sorted.
