Excellent video and some great information. It's interesting to see how Islam was used by the British and the US in the past. Even in the Middle East, the US used Muslims to achieve their goals. I think the "right wing" is particularly harmful when it comes into contact with Islam. This type of right wing Islam we're seeing seems to be very counter culture and it prides itself on that, not in the ways which matter by emphasising family and virtue but by basing itself solely on opposition to lgbt, women's rights, and opposition to anything "left wing". The Islam in the west has shifted to the right, and so what we're witnessing now is the early days of a sort of Christian evangelical version of Islam. This is certainly how it is in the UK where I'm from. Conspiracy theories are rising, support for right wing figures is growing, personalities like Mahdi Tidjani and Andrew Tate are popular among the youth, and there's this fitness culture that has arisen which reminds me of Neo Nazis who have their own training places. It's not about health or mental wellbeing, it's more like training in preparation for an imaginary war. This is all in a neat package of "Salafism" which once appealed to people by emphasising simplicity and correct beliefs free from innovation but has now morphed into counter culture. People like Haqiqatjou are only the beginning, unfortunately. I think it's going to get a lot worse, especially when the right fully embrace Muslims as allies since the old tactics of Muslims as enemies is running out of steam and they realise that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. At first, Muslims were used in foreign nations, but now, there's a growing population that can be used for political support.

After hearing certain remarks you made about the future of your KZbin channel on an episode of "The Book Cafe Podcast," I found it necessary to come here, your most recent video, and implore you to continue your work. The exposition and promulgation of Islamic modernism (which to my mind really only means: an Islam which thinks) is something which the world needs, and which will not go unnoticed or unappreciated. In short, your work will certainly have an "impact" and will move the discourse in the right direction, especially as far as the discourse of the lay-Muslim is concerned. But just as I implore you to continue your work, I also have (the audacity to make) a certain request with regard to the nature of your KZbin videos. The longer-form, more educational, lecture-type videos, such as this one, are what I prefer. No doubt I understand the use and utility of shorter, polemical videos, insofar as they reach more people. But I think videos of the former type are more beneficial in the long-run and are on the whole more insightful. Moreover, perhaps making videos which outline the Islamic modernist positions on certain key general issues would be good. For example, as opposed to critiquing the Scriptural basis of a certain Islamic practice (say, wife-beating), perhaps a video which treats the question of law vis-a-vis the Qu'ran in general, from the Islamic modernist perspective, would be nice. And for other subjects as well, like the Islamic modernist treatment of miracles, or their hermeneutical approach to the Qu'ran, etc. Also, as a side-note, I personally am curious as to your thoughts on the philosophy of Muhammad Iqbal, since I have seen you speak of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan on numerous occasions, but have less often seen you speak of Iqbal. Perhaps a video of your thoughts on Iqbal's project? Those things aside, I hope you come across this comment and understand the extent to which your work has impacted people. I fear that you might not quite understand that as much as you should, since the nature of your work (according to my hunch) invites much derision and negativity from Traditionalist Muslims, whose voice, I feel, probably seems so loud on the internet space.
