The day after I bought the madko I wanted to get rid of it. Then I realized I was flipping sick with it and it was improving my flow and I could get it to carry good momentum. Its aggressive is the best term to describe it. For me. Hence madko I suppose. It’s my main now and has improved my flipping. I go from it and a kraken seamlessly still. I removed the bottom pivot hardware.

Quick question from someone very new to the hobby (my first knife [A Vulp] hasn’t even arrived yet…) Why do trainers always seem to come with black or unfinished “blades”?

That's not possible on steel. The closest you could get would be a cerakote but it's far too expensive and fragile for that type of use. You can always get it modded secondhand if you want though.

@banksofrome idk honestly, i have a madko and i really like it, and i literally prefer super light balisong like the cygnus and ultralight. it felt really heavy at first but once i got used to it, it flips really good. However i did just do a trade for a nami, for that madko.

Its titanium what are you talking about that price is comparable to other titanium balis if not on the cheaper side. Titanium is much more expensive than aluminum hence the price. Most titanium balis are 500 and up so I don't know what your comparing it to. The price reflects the materials the quality and where it was manufactured. It's made of one of the most expensive metals in america where the workers have to be paid fairly the price is literally the lowest they could go to still make profit. If saving 350 (they have discount codes you know for 10 percent off) then I'd recommend a different Hobbie. Most knives that actually flip well are super expensive. The serif is the smoothest bali I have and it cost 700 and I don't regret the purchase at all because it will be perfect for years to come.

Kraken - 4.2 oz Madko - 4.6 oz Putting the quite obvious bit aside, not sure why you're trying to gatekeep weight but the community has been on a track to sub 4 oz balisongs, making the madko heavy by comparison nowadays.
