This is crazy! I grew up one block away from the square and remember when it opened, I used to spend a lot of time in that place. The waitress/counter lady was a sweetheart but it was very evident she came from some crazy background or mob related family.

The square was a block away from me, I never saw that place busy once, mind you, there was 4 pizzerias in the football field sized circle that made up the town square where ‘the square’ was located. L&B just fell off drastically and wasn’t anything compared to what it once was at that time.

If people knew how simple a great Italian pie really is. Sauce is literally just fresh San Marzano peeled whole tomatoes crushed (by hand if applicable), sea salt, EVoo, fresh dried oregano and fresh basil leaves (just sitting in the sauce for taste). Dough: 00high gluten flour, sea salt, yeast, EVoo, butter, beer (yes beer). Mozzarella: SLICED whole milk not shredded.
