Hey there, I am interested in supporting you on Patreon, but I want to control my budget by supporting you at my own pace, not that at which you put out content. Are there options to support you per month rather than per video released?
@RhysticStudies7 жыл бұрын
ThePremordialGod yup: you can always set a max limit. I release two videos per month, and you can set your pledge to be charged for one of those videos and not the other. for example: I pledge $5, with a max limit of $5. creator uploads the first time (which I pay for), then uploads the second time (which i don't pay for).

I come from an engineering/physics background, and am perhaps the farthest thing from a creative mind. So when I say that your passion and perspective for/on these artists work has changed my view and inspired me to look more deeply into this new world, it's a type of compliment I can't say I've made many times! Thank you, and keep up the great work raising the KZbin content bar!

Swanland's always been a polarizing artist for me. I love a lot of his work, but I also get tired of his style quicker than a lot of other artists. Having said that, this video reminded me that the majority of his work is among some of my favourite pieces in Magic, so thanks for that Sam!
@nathanmarcano31717 жыл бұрын
Please do one of these on Rebecca Guay, easily my favorite MTG artist of all time. She has such a distinctive style (that stained glass look, see Bitterblossom or the FtV Serra Angel) that I think would make for an interesting video.

Wow, I didn't know anything about Raymond as an artist, but some of those cards are some of my favorite for card art. Something about the jagged edges and dynamic, motion-like images get me excited. I mean genuinely excited. His art makes me pause for a second just to take it in. Thank you very much for making these videos. Of all of the current artists, Raymond Swanland is my favorite. Every piece looks so detailed and involved, and as you point out full of action. I do wish for the old art styles to pop up once in a while (Drew Tucker, Anson Maddocks, Richard Kane Ferguson to name a few), Mr. Swanland's output is top notch. Easily one of the best artists MTG has ever had.

It was rather difficult to narrow down which of Raymond's work in MTG would be my favourite, I adore his style in general so if I just listed all the ones I was looking between there would be several paragraphs of just listing names. The one I settled on was Sanctum of the Spirit Dragon, it's such a majestic, cinematic moment that invites to mind not just the moment depicted, but the moment immediately after it, when Ugin comes to a rest in the air and all that ghostly energy swims around him. Like much of his work it's a moment of triumph that gives a thrill no matter how many times I see it.
@luliby23097 жыл бұрын
3 things. 1. Great video. I love Swanland's art and it was awesome to learn more about it and him. 2. Where did all your older videos go? Did you get rid of them? If so, why? You had some awesome stuff there. 3. What would you think of doing a video essay on the art of the Eldrazi? Exploring ideas such as: how do you create art that depicts how alien and otherworldly they are? I would enjoy learning about that as the Eldrazi are so bizarre and cool.
