Amazing! This is the first time I've ever heard anything by the great Norman Vincent Peale; and what a wonderful introduction to his ministry. I can see now why he exerted such a powerful influence upon Dr. Robert Schuller. Thanks very much for this upload!! It's time for me to revisit Claude Bristol's masterpiece on this wonderful subject.

Those 12 words make absolutely no sense. Am I hearing it wrong? "If thou can't believe all things are possible to him that believeth." It sounds like canst (can't?) He has an electric delivery but what about the content?

It’s an old recording. I think Dr Peale knew the Bible verse you have quoted. His style of preaching was like that of Jesus-keep it simple, use plenty of examples (parables) and keep theological words to a minimum. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but in my opinion he spoke the word of God.

“Jesus said unto him, ‘If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.’” (Mark 9:23 [KJV].) Yes, “canst”. It’s old language-the archaic second person singular present of the word “can”.

The word canst is an ancient archaic word meaning can.
