Mark your runouts! Today we are running a rack MARKED and talking about why we should be training with marked runouts. This can be a game changer because when you don't hit a shot how you intended, you can immediately set it back up exactly as it was and really hone in on what's going wrong and learn way faster than just guessing where the ball was. Welcome to Train With Me episode 19!

Thanks Josh! Enjoy all your videos, I've been watching the earlier ones as time permits. You have what Mark Wilson calls "relentless positivity" while creating your Train With Me videos, Mark talks about having that not only in pool, but in life. Big fan here 😁

I have found, believe, and teach that a negative critical mind blocks the learning mind and distracts us from calm and focused performance. We need to practice being positive the same way we practice hitting shots, breathing, etc Thanks for the ❤️ See ya on the next one🤗

My favorite practice routine is to break a rack of 9 ball and sticker everything up and see how many ways i can run out! The table will literally teach you how to play. thank you for all of your pool knowledge, I took a page from the book of slate

This series is great. I knew you from the MN Bootcamp podcast with Demi. I really love the positive energy and your approach to training makes soooo much sense. Production quality has really improved too. I think sticking around the 10-15 min length works best. Longer than that and it can be hard to digest all the nuggets of wisdom. Keep up the amazing work!

Great content! I appreciate you being real with us and showing us the misses too. You really underscore the importance of marking balls and ensuring each retry shot/transition stays consistent.

On your opening shot on the 3, there's a less sensitive opening shot that's more speed forgiving. Just play the high ball natural 3 rails hitting the short rail, the long rail past the side and the up table short rail. Allows you to play a more positive stroke since the table seems fast. Love the labels. They're great tools.

In fairness, I just throw the balls out and go and start yapping so I can show authentic struggle It was cool that when I watched this back I saw what you saw and I was like.. "Look at me learning from me" 🤪

@@SlateBilliardClub It’s refreshing to know that even a player of your caliber doesn’t always see the best shot while at the table. Helps me remember to not get frustrated at myself for missing things. It’s all part of the journey and the misses never stop

Love this. I know Tor Lowry had a book on runout puzzles but that is no longer available in print format which I'd greatly prefer rather than than some jenky app that it is available. with. Question: How do you develop your runout patterns. Can you suggest some resources for run out pattern drills that is suited for players wanting to learn the different shot associated with running out a particular pattern. Like your teaching philosophy and method. Good stuff.
