The Magic of Nintendo's 2017

2017 was a magical time to be a Nintendo fan. From the launch of the Nintendo Switch, to great games like Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, it was a fantastic year. I have so many great memories from 2017, and I thought I'd make a video talking about why I love this year so much. Thanks for Watching!

The switch came out when I was coming out of middle school. The switch had been my daily driver throughout highschool, and about to go to college. I'm not gonna lie, I remember all of these directs and showcases like it was yesterday, truly a magical year for nintendo fans.

I remember being like a kid on Christmas when I got my switch. I had played the heck out of my Wii U and was ready to move on to switch. I remember on Christmas getting BOTW and a pre-order for odyssey. Thank you for making this video so I can go back and remember.

2019 was an amazing year. The best Nintendo E3 ever in my opinion and a lot of magical games such as Fire Emblem Three Houses, Super Mario Maker 2 and Luigi's Mansion 3 and many great third party games. But the magic of 2017 is still unmatched. You have put into words everything I feel about that year.

I had actually given up on Nintendo for so long. As a lifelong fan since the 90s, I had a 3DS and a Wii U with a bunch of games, I sold them all. I truly believed that Nintendo had lost their way and I would never support them again. I tried to argue with Breath of the Wild players that the game just looked like another rehash, even though I was secretly curious to play. Eventually that Mario Odyssey E3 trailer got me good, I caved and bought a Switch. It was like my entire childhood and teen years had come back, better than it ever was before. I cried playing all three of Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade 2. I realized in 2017, the Nintendo Magic was burning brighter than ever before. 2017 was "Nintendo is Back, Baby" the Year. I'll never give up on Nintendo ever again.

Such a nostalgic video, thanks for making it 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽I bought my switch day one at Walmart with Breath of the wild and a buddy of mine that happened to be there at the time bought my daughters 1-2- switch when he noticed that the Zelda game was the only one I could afford that night and he didn’t want my daughters to return home empty handed. I won’t forget that night.. ever.

this is a very unpopular opinion but I kinda don't like the switch, it's kind of boring, the UI is bland, there is no music, it's just kind of lifeless compared to the wii u, 3ds, wii, etc. The games are fine, maybe I don't like odysey that much, I have mixed opinions on that game, BOTW is amazing, there are some good games and some bad games. but the switch itself wasn't that good, plus, the switch's quality isn't reliable, joycons break easily, they're not that good to use and don't even get me started on joycon drift

I just don't get it. Even with a solid line up of first party titles and future anouncements that year, the switch had piss poor third party support and that has persisted every year since then. Sure they get some really downgraded ports years after release, but those are few and far between. That responsibility lies with nintendo, not the publishers. Even microsoft during the late xbox 360 era had a terrible first party lineup, but had at least tons of tripple-A third party games. Sure, the switch has solid indie support, but so has ps4, and even xbox to some extent. I seriously want to ask everyone : How can you be okay with this? Why settle for less when you know nintendo has the money to spend on exclusives and third party deals? I'm only saying this so that switch users will get better support from nintendo, cuz personally i would never buy a switch over a ps5, xbox one, ps4, or even ps3/xbox 360 for that matter.

@Turtle? Turtle I just feel like they can do better cus they have done better. Lots of third party exxclusives on the GC and even wii. Now all they do is decade old releases of xboxps3 games it feels like.
