Danke Dir, hatte jemanden der zeitweise einen Schirm über mich gehalten hatte. Das Equipment nahm zum Glück trotz der Nässe keinen Schaden. :-)

Carlos, your backup guitarist was excellent. To me, he didn't get the camera time he should have. He carried your guitar expertise quite well.

Thank you for the video. What a shame that the sound quality is not better....especially the crowd noise. So glad that the band got this other recording of ''Hold On.'' kzbin.info/www/bejne/pofdpXtsd9edg8k I have played it over 100 times, since discovering ''The MAGIC of SANTANA'' 4 months ago. Alex's voice is just incredible and the guitarist is excellent. I do wish there was a version where the band would leave off the vocal duet with the guitar, with the crowd sing-a-long. I'm imagine it is fun for the crowd, but it drags on too long and again the crowd is distracting. Sounds like the mic is right next to one audience member that is shouting. I noticed most of the shows were around 2013-16. Are they still touring or recording?

This could have been a really great Tribute to Santana - with Santana's former lead Singer & all, etc. However, the Guitar player's style (although fantastic in his own right) makes me miss Carlos' playing that much more. While this guy seems almost unlimited, to me it seems like he is just showing off how fast he can play & how many Licks/Notes he can stick in everywhere. It really "Cheapens" the whole thing & makes me just want to walk away & go listen to somebody else on another Stage at the Fair. Compared to Carlos' ALWAYS Soulful playing, this Guitarist seems almost too stoic, forced & technical/mechanical for me. In other words, he is OVER-PLAYING, too loud in the Mix & sounds like he is just "Reciting" every Lick he knows. It sounds like he is not only trying to play Circles around Carlos' playing, but Circles around his own playing as well. Yes, there is some "feeling" in his playing, but for me it sounds "forced" & lacks SOUL. There is such a thing as OVERPLAYING & this is clearly the Case - almost as if the Band is just a Background to showcase this guitarist's "Diarrhea" of too many Guitar licks (like Zack Wilde). After a while it is "Overkill" - it just dulls the senses, becomes boring & is finally unlistenable. The "Magic of Santana" ? No, not here - at least not for me. The lead Guitarist here is clearly missing the Point. If he only played just 1/2 as many notes, he would still be just as dangerous & Twice as Effective. However, for me his playing (although "great/hot/fast," etc.) actually Takes AWAY from the band & the "Magic of Santana" is gone & not here. Guitarists: there IS such a thing as being "too good for your own good" & not really having the discernment of what to tastefully do with your talent. Remember - "Less is MORE" (unless you are trying to impress those who are only Moved by "Technical Wizardry") - When will you ever LEARN That ? IMO, they should have got Carlos' Bro. Jorge to do the Guitar work - THAT would have really put some "Santana Magic" into this Band. Thanks for posting, though.

TOTALLY AGREE !!! Many Santana Tribute bands have lead guitarists who are really good blues rock players.....some even technically better than Carlos , but they are ego trippers. Every time they get in to the lead parts that require really studying and sorting out what Carlos actually played, they fail to put in the work and instead start riffing and show boating away their own shit......which NEVER sounds better that what Carlos played. They transform the signature Carlos Santana passionate , melodic LATIN ROCK solo's in to blues/rock sometimes even hard rock versions that sound AWFUL and to me thats not a Santana TRIBUTE.......its called raping masterpieces.

There’s only one Carlos, SRV, Jimi, Eddie VH , and on and on... you can imitate but you can’t recreate a guitar player’s inner soul.
@santanafan17133 жыл бұрын
@@ciskokidd1313 Thats true. But you can try to get as close as possible to the original and capture the feel. To me thats the difference between a Tribute band and a Cover band. A Tribute band honours the original artist and tries to offer the music as close as possible to what the crowd perceives as authentic. A Cover band offers the crowd their personal interpretation / rendition of songs........which can be interesting but also can be awful. In my opinion this band should not present themselves " The Magic of Santana " and then have their lead guitarist turn every epic Carlos solo in to his own personal ego trip, backed by a weak percussion section. Nothing magically Santana to it. Way better would have been " Alex Ligertwood sings Santana songs " To me they are a good band.......but not a good Santana Tribute. Just my personal opinion though. To each their own.

Emsie Markarian NO ! It's a real tribute to Carlos Santana. And you know nothing about the subject !!!!!! You always ignore Savor and Eric bonillo the best tributes in France. It's a shame !!!!!
@santanafan17133 жыл бұрын
@@nialref Naaaaaa its a tribute to Alex........the band is nothing special. The lead guitarist is skilled but does not capture the Santana feel......he actually doesn't even try and messes up a lot. I agree , Eric Bonillo is one of the few guitarists playing Santana here on KZbin who manages to really sound like Carlos. Him , Willieguitars , BT Charlie , Ricky Baker ( Rico ) and perhaps one or two others are the ones to follow when it comes to really sounding like Carlos.
