Such a genius way to demonstrate the tape track! The tape is so inspiring and powerful, and it has so much more potential. My wishlist: - Reverse playback - Freeze tape - One shot/disable looping - multiple playheads

Genius mode, using that number sequence to explain the tape! You can also raise and lower the octave with the plus and minus keys, beyond what Encoder 1 can do. My personal favorite move is using the LFO on Amp Encoder 3 for autopanning, and using P-Locks with smooth interpolation over a long sequence for things like fading the mix amount or filter cutoff. They really improved this over the op-z, especially being able to use step components on it.

Hey! It continuously records a 16 step loop. That means as soon as you arrive back at step 1, whatever is in the buffer will be recorded over. Quick recovery!

Very smart way to explain the tape track. Is it possible to perform a “tape stop” effect like the one from OP-1 or TX6?

Thank you! Sadly the tape-stop is not possible…I criticized this in another video. There is not 0% or negative tape speed which would be necessary for this. I'd love negative tape speed for reverse effects too, hopefully they'll work on that.

Great video! I learned new things even after being an OP-Z user for many years. I haven’t tried this yet, but I recently read that the OP-XY’s arpeggiator works on the tape track😮 and the Punch-In fx track too, apparently.

I had an evening getting gradually more angry trying to find out why my sequence was sounding granular and skipping/ducking. Turned out my mrs had been on the XY while I wasn't looking and had recorded a load of the tape track into the sequence...hadn't realised what you could do with it and once I knew that's what it was it was really exciting as it has myriad un-obvious uses. As with the OP-Z in the right hands/imagination it is a fantastic and instant creative weapon

Haha :D Yeah, the tape track is great. I hope they tweak it a little to make it even more powerful (reverse, envelopes,etc.) But as is, it is already loads of fun.

I would like to see a second part to this tutorial where you go more in depth and show how the tape plays with longer sequences as the tape buffers new material and therefore gets a feeling of ever evolving. This gets even more extreme when performing punch in effects while the tape has a sequence going as well. Part 2 could also have more fleshed out real life examples.
