The writers were cowards for not making Quentin say 'Because I love him" and they know they screwed up

that’s useless because The Monster don’t understand love anyway. He only understand desire craving and power. In this scene he just shows the monster how he claims the elliott body as it’s property because that’s something the monster comprehends. That gives Que tin much more credibility and quick thinking than just sorting lines about love, as if love was able to save anything

I said, that when the Monster asked why Quentin cares so much about the body, this could've been a huge wake-up call for Quentin realizing he loved Elliot more than a close friend, that is why I posted that, because everyone who's seen the show, KNOWS that Elliot and Quentin have a much better bond, deep than just being friends, it's a love that spaned a lifetime in one timeline, where they grew old together, yet the writers didn' do it, that's what I meant, not all this bs about the monster not knowing love, I never once said that, you took this small sentence and ran somewhere else with it, but now you know

I honestly truly expected his response to be "Because I love him". Having read the books and watching the show twice, it's like a Mandela Effect. Which Magicians would love.

I will always love how Hale said some words with spanish accent while he was playing the monster

Quentin has really progressed into such a place of solid love. All of his vulnerabilities are still there (just as his strengths were always there); the only difference is, he forcefully chooses love as his center. Even when he's desperate and doesn't know what to do, Quentin never leaves that center - and so he keeps finding ways to keep on...because he has to. It's the best kind of self-fulfilling prophecy.

elliot went crazy and used high level battle magic on a whim when his last love he knew for a few weeks betrayed him . imagine what he would do for someone he loved for fifty years. The oold gods better watch out.

Yeah it was tough having barely any Eliot in season4, but Half Appleman totally made up for it! I mean the monster is such a well-done character; he's scary and crazy and dangerous but he's also in pain and childlike and really fuckin funny! Appleman just killed it and it could not have been easy to start from scratch 4 years into a show surrounded by every part of "the Magicians" that stayed the same... Bravo!

Don't sell Quentin short. He's the heart and soul of that group, the glue that binds them together. His pep talks are what keep them going. He's always been more than people seem to give him credit for.
