No need to apologize for watching the premiere, they are always so much fun, especially in the chat! And boy does it get crazy when the Maids enter the chat! LOL! I do like that you mentioned Miku's Rhythm guitar. Of course, Misa, Akane and Mincho are amazing, Hall of Fame amazing! But I really love Miku's guitar parts. Different style, but her impact reminds me a lot of Malcolm Young with AC/DC (RIP). So powerful and so important. And it allows Misa and Mincho to do their superstar stuff! And as always, our Queen shines through. She keeps getting better and better. Absolutely love this song Po! Thanks NittPicc!
@paddyofurniture468115 күн бұрын
Ho boy did I love this comment! It brings up that absolutely crucial, outstanding yet astonishing move Miku made to go get another singer. Really, who in the West would do that? Anyway, think about all that "acquisition" brought to the band. A second set of vocals, a second lyrics writer as it turns out, and a second guitarist as it turns out. Fully fleshed out EVERYTHING. Karma Kismet Destiny Fate
@charlescoleman401715 күн бұрын
@@paddyofurniture4681 so absolutely true! Hard to imagine anyone putting their ego aside to go get a more powerful lead singer and then to learn guitar from scratch. But that's our Pigeon Po! She truly is a hero to me. Right on Paddy! Love the handle by the way, LOL!

Band Maid was the absolute best choice to do this intro… not musically (although who’s better there either), but thematically. Band Maid has consistently dealt with the theme of creating your own future, rejecting limitations, bravely heading into the unseen world, etc.

"I drew your smile when we were together" sounds like a very Miku-esque double meaning, but it turns out Saiki wrote the lyrics. Kudos to her for a very mature song. I also appreciate the space they left in the verses, to make it easier to hear all the instrumentation, leaving the wall of sound for the choruses. All in all, a really excellent effort. It's got me listening to it a lot

This one has a lot of "Foridden Tale" magic in it, IMHO. LOVE Kanami's two stage solo and the length is perfect. Personally I took to this song much faster than "Forbidden Tale"........and they just keep getting better.

Agreed. I get the appeal of "big rock show trashcan endings," but the sudden endings are really effective, like ending on the 4 in Puzzle

Finally, a hard rocking banger from Band-Maid again 🤘🏻 I watched the first 2 episodes of Zenshu and it's good. Not ground breaking unique, but entertaining. Just another variant of the usual Isekai theme (born into another world). What is special for Band-Maid is that it's from MAPPA, one of the really big Anime studios in Japan, which means it will have a huuuge audience. I've already read mainly positive critiques for the show and the OP.

This song took me a minute to warm to but it's really incredible: 1) The lyrics both fit the anime perfectly but also feel like something that could just apply to one's life. 2) The dark chord progression that sounds foreboding and vaguely evil which makes it a great anime opening song. 3) Double length Kanami solo!

I've never thought reactors should worry as much about it being the first time they have heard a song anyway - especially with Band-Maid. With them, my 11th listen is almost like my first one for any other band - regarding how much I'm really grasping what's going on. IMO. That instrumentation behind the 2nd verse though!!! Wowza!! And of course Mincho showing off the new axe like nobody's business!

No shame, in fact, it was a bit of a breath of fresh air. I've often said (and this is for very new reactors that haven't really found their voice yet, not yourself), that esp for these newer songs, the 'first reaction' may be fun, but a 'let someone hear it and think about it for a bit and get their thoughts together' approach is probably more interesting, with more nuggets of commentary that wouldn't have germinated in a first 'reaction' take. Loved your thoughts on the song!

There's some of the finest vocalparts in the song, that I've heard from the maids in a while. Giving some reminiscense to songs like "Choose me", but at the same so different because of the progression they've had as musicians. If you're impressed by Miku's development as guitarist, it has a lot with Mincho always trying to push her. Kanami has also said that Miku strums faster than her, so if you say you heard some 16 notes from her, there possibly a reason for it. Great reaction! Love your smile btw!

Every new Band-Maid song rings out with new and innovative riff and chord structures, beat patterns and fills, vocal runs, backups, melodies and lyrics. The Maids continue to pack so much into their songs without them feeling cluttered, repetitive or overplayed. Their composition and execution is always refreshing and amazing to witness and hear. Once again, the supreme Maids -- Kanami, Saiki, Miku, Akane and MISA -- push their contributions to exciting, new levels of writing, playing and performance! Besides being a great song, Zen reflects some of the motifs of the anime (or vice-versa IMO 😊). It's 100% a comedy isekai, but I can see how some of the themes would have resonated with Kanami, Saiki, and everyone in Band-Maid, e.g. battling loneliness, struggling with the past, working through frustrations of the present, and opening up new possibilities with art. I really wish the anime had used the half-time bridge to Kanami's solo at the points where the protag (Natsuko) starts her furious drawing instead of the cheesy music they actually use, but ah well, can't have everything...
