I am a retired Army Intelligence professional, and would like to note something important: The "crime" that they are accusing Trump of is literally, definitionally impossible for him to be guilty of. The entire classified information program is a PRESIDENTIAL program. It's all based on Executive Orders. The president is the highest classification authority. The president can, at will, determine if something should be classified or declassified. Therefore, it is physically impossible for him to violate his own program by retaining documents. The accusations being made are the equivalent to arresting a man for stealing his own possessions from himself. Unless the accusation is that he went in to a classified facility and stole documents AFTER leaving office, there is no legal justification for the charges as they have been described. The entire existence of "classified defense information" in the USA is predicated on Executive Orders. I would note that in the latest revision of the classified defense information program, EO 13526, stipulates that "Sec. 1.3. Classification Authority. (a) The authority to classify information originally may be exercised only by: (1) the President and the Vice President; (2) agency heads and officials designated by the President; and (3) United States Government officials delegated this authority pursuant to paragraph (c) of this section. Sec. 3.1. Authority for Declassification. (a) Information shall be declassified as soon as it no longer meets the standards for classification under this order. (b) Information shall be declassified or downgraded by: (1) the official who authorized the original classification, if that official is still serving in the same position and has original classification authority; (2) the originator’s current successor in function, if that individual has original classification authority; ///note that this means any current president can declassify anything that a previous administration classified//// In other words, the president is the ultimate authority on what is and is not classified, and everyone else's authority to classify or declassify materials is authorized SOLELY by the specific delegation of authority by the president

You can agree to disagree, but at least hear people out. Not just letting someone talk, but actually listening. It’s a hard thing to do.
