Oh! I just had an idea...for the scary faces that Barbara and Adam have in the movie, maybe some "Polaroid" pictures in Lydia's room? She took pictures of them as ghosts in sheets, so it might make sense to have pictures of Adam and Barbara in some of their other looks. As a teenager, she could have them all posted on a black bulletin board in her room? LOL I can just see Lydia doing something like that.

I really like that idea! Even if I make them in 3D somewhere else I think it would be fun for them to be in a polaroid too! Maybe a whole bulletin board of photos from the movie?

As a regular figure painter, I will recommend that you do _not_ get a particularly small brush for figure painting. For reference, most of the figures I paint are nominally 28mm tall, so maybe 1/6 the height of your figures (and 1/36 the surface area). I regularly recommend that figure painters get larger brushes with a really good point instead. The problem with very small brushes is that the paint tends to dry between the palette and the figure, and even if you're fast enough to get the brush to work, you spend a lot of effort reloading the brush. With a larger brush with a proper paint load, you can paint very fine details for a minute or more without running out of paint and without the paint getting crusty on the brush. I generally use a Kolinsky Sable brush in #1 or #2 sizes. I prefer Winsor & Newton Series 7 (not Series 7 Mini), Rafael Series 8404 or 8408, or da Vinci Maestro Series 10 or 35 brushes. They're significantly more expensive, but I've been using my current brush for about 18 months now and it still has a great point that I can use for freehand, eyes, and other small details. Just a suggestion.

I think... when you go to do the attic... on 1 wall, draw out the door to "the other side" and do Adam and Barbara's scare faces poking out, like they are checking if the coast is clear. So it looks like they are coming back in through the door. I love this series. Beetlejuice is one of my fave films, I can't wait for number 2!

They came out so great! I love how they look. As for making the monstrous version of Adam and Barbara and them in their wedding gowns, maybe you can paint a picture of them. Pictures of them in their wedding outfits and pictures of them in their monstrous facial expressions and have it hanged up somewhere the house. That way, you made them in their alternative versions and it saves you the time to having to create extra versions of them. 😊 Its an idea. Ara, if you want, you can do it or no, its ok.

Your comment gave me an idea... I have no idea how to do it, but it would be fun if I could do one of those portraits where it changes depending on where you are standing... so you if you are standing to the left you see them normal, and to the right you see their skeletal form! That would be hard to do I imagine! But love the portrait idea!

@BentleyHouseMinis Жыл бұрын
I am definitely starting to see the benefit of sewing over gluing and may do more and more of it in the future! However gluing is how I learned and that was on dolls who's clothes were permanent. Make clothes that are removable is a whole new world!

@@queencityminis To be fair, sewing on this small a scale IS a royal pain!! But you can find ways to make it a bit easier, like cutting the shirt (for example) bigger and then cutting it to the right size, thereby making the seams less tiny. There is also hand sewing (which I loathe), but even that (for me) is less "painful" than gluing! Haha, it is not a knock on anyone who glues, as I said the gluing results look great! But sewing is how I learned and so gluing seams just makes my head spin and heart palpitate a bit! I will try glue in the future though, anything to make things more quickly and still have good results is something worth trying. It just means more trips to the sink to clean off the messy, messy, glue!
