For some reason I get this overwhelming sense of joy, sadness , beauty confusion and mystery. We live in a wired environment , so magical to the eyes. And the size of space makes me feel like I'm just bacteria on a floating ball of water. We practically don't even exist compared to size of stars. Very relaxing music . 2 thumbs up

Many folks ask me: "if God had a profession, what would it be?" I tell them he is an artist. His artistic designs go unmatched. He created the Earth with all it's beauty, established a state of being beyond comprehension, produced human life which has unimaginable power, and fabricated this astonishing universe with all it's glory, vastness, and glamor. What a gift we have been blessed with. Nothing in our existance can match to the glory and beauty of God's works, his love, his passion.

I dedicate these images in very loving memory of My Heavenly-Resplendent Wife (My Barbra Rose). When I think of Arp 272 ("the cosmic rose") I think of a celestial gift -- a reminder -- that she is still in love with me and that she's praying for me and watching over me until we are reunited in Heaven (Forever). My Barbra and I shared a mutual appreciation for astronomy. Now, she can hold an entire galaxy in the palms of her loving and gentle hands.

@keethiek The spikes in the stars are due to diffraction of the lens or the telescope. I know there are filters that can help you get these effects too, because we've come to find them beautiful. But in reality they are still an unwanted side effect of the optical devices used to bring those far away objects to us in so many details. I corrected brightness curves and applied minor noise reduction, personally, and maybe NASA did some of their own, but for the rest, no enhancing filters were used.

It actually does, and can't do any differently. The key is how far away some of these objects really are. Although we consider what we see as instantly happening, light actually takes some time to get from one place to another. The further away you look, the longer ago it took place. If you look at the sun, you see what it looked like 8 minutes ago. Look at the polar star, that's 400 years ago. For some distant galaxies you see how they were before the earth was formed. That's how far they are!

Some of the pictures are showing their real colors. Others are pictures taken in parts of the spectrum that we can't actually see with our eyes. In those cases, those invisible colors were translated to colors that we actually can see. I think that might be what you refer to as photo montage. Examples of both are included in this movie. Enjoy!
@Relaxicity12 жыл бұрын
The Hubble telescope in fact is by itself a satelite. That means it is in orbit, it circles around the earth, so high that we can say it is in space. This allows it to take sharper pictures from far distances, because there is no air in front of its lens, like there would be on earth. It circles around the earth and uses it's incredible zoom lens to look into space. So, it doesn't actually travel to the places you can see on these pictures.

@IMAHMS I'm not a real expert, but I do believe some of the colors are shown just as they are, the light that we do see. Hey, just look at the sky on a clear night, when you can see the milky way. There's lots of deep blue and some other colors too, then. I've looked at the stars from a lodge in the Serengeti, when there is no light around to disturb the sight. An amazing experience.

You are right. The James Webb Telescope is currently being built and should be launched around 2018. When it will be in orbit, it will be much higher than the Hubble telescope, about 3000 times as high. It will be able to look deeper into space than Hubble. The Webb telescope will focus on infra red light, where Hubble combines this with visual light. This means it will be looking behind many of the things we now see on the Hubble photographs. That will be cool, but it could be less photogenic.

@IMAHMS Some of these images show "colors" that you cannot see in real life. That's radiation our eyes just can't pick up, an invisible color. NASA translates that color to another color we can see, for instance red. So, you see what's really there, but not necessarily what a human eye would make of it. Personally, I used Photoshop to do some noise reduction, and contrast corrections to bring out the shapes. All in all, it's what's really there, but we could never see it like this, being there.
