This should be taken much slower, with much more rubato. And much lighter, easier singing. There should be almost no vibrato and no forte. throughout the piece until the alleluias. This is all about the spin and forward energy.

Perhaps you're looking at a different edition than I am? I followed along with a copy of the octavo in my hand and found them true to Mr Fettke's writing...
