@@cpb7115Fraud to what? He's a founding member of the Dead, probably the oldest current touring band alive right now. He's been jamming and touring since the 60s... thats 6 decades, man. What possibly is he a fraud about?

Bobby is singing a high falsetto harmony which you have to really pay attention to to hear. It's actually a really smart choice to accompany Dave's voice. But yeah, could be a bit louder still.

My girlfriend and I were the ones on acid at this show. We found this cool group of people around us and felt so connected and almost lost each other and then…Bob Weir shows up to play The Maker…it seems Bobby can always smell the acid in the air. And I could just feel how Bobby was the one we were all singing about “burning in the eyes of the maker”. Such a God figure. I love this man from the bottom of my heart. And Grateful Dead isn’t even top 5 bands in my list but DMB is.

I guess my question is for ChesterCopperpot5. Thanks for all these great shows. I've been a subsciber for about a minute and a half, so please forgive me for any rookie mistakes. In the opening credits the show is listed as 08/30/16 from Berkeley, CA. However, on your transcript page it's it's listed 18 years earlier at the United Center in Chicago, IL in '98. I'm pretty sure this show is less than six years old, rather than more than 23 years old. I'm assuming it's just a typographical error - or maybe I've misunderstood or misconstrued something; hence the disclaimer in an effort at self-inoculation. Afterall, I'm a neophyte here, but I 💘 love your stuff and have been attending shows si since before Apollo 11. BTW : Neil Armstrong (RIP) later admitted that he was a bit (understandably) nervous. What he said to most of 🌎 world that had television was : "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." It always bothered me bit, but I wasn't sure why (I'd just graduated - from elementary school 🏫!). Much later he said he regretted it, but besides all the other mission stuff, etc., he was speaking to people on every continent/in every country. What he intended to was : "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." It's amazing how much o one letter, the shortest word in the English language, and what one little indefinite arcticle means.

ok we all know bobs still got his pipes so whats up was his mic having trouble or???
@chrispruiett93705 жыл бұрын
Kyle Kishbaugh yeah he motions for them to turn it up but it's hard to hear. He is singing in falsetto to harmonize, which matches great with Dave. That guitar solo though.. Nice, simple and melodic. Just nailed it! He does a great job throughout, singing a song that the Jerry Garcia Band used to cover as well. Check out Bob and Phil Lesh March 7th playing the song on their string of shows as a duo. You can hear Bob sing it himself, with a little back up from Teresa Williams. Bob always shines playing acoustic, and Larry Cambell steps in to play a wonderful solo. Can't wait to see Bob play Nov. 12th in DC :)

so sad you can't hear Bobby. Just like him not to hog the mic. Sign of a true musician who can harmonize. Love them both

Speaking as someone who dont know dick about Bob Weir, he looks like he's having a rough time up there. Is he normally a good guitar player? Or just the GD singer?
@johnbutler72046 жыл бұрын
Derek Valukis just got into him, monster on chords and inversions. Not saying he could hang with Joe Pass, but he's unlikely to struggle with anything in this style.

Bob is a cool old guy with the crazy mountain man snow-white mustache, but I don't think he knows the words to the song - that is why he is so timid a the mic- but is very good on the guitar
