Just going to throw this out there, because there seems to be some confusion in the comments. If something weighs 1 pound, it weighs 1 pound no matter if it is steel or feathers. Likewise, if something weighs 1 gram, it weighs 1 gram no matter if it is a metallic eye shadow or a matte eye shadow. If you put something on a scale and it weighs 1 gram, the object weighs 1 gram no matter what the object is. However, due to differences in molecular weight, the amount of moles of a particular element or compound present may differ.
@astranger2717 жыл бұрын
That's a lot of feathers...
@-L.S6 жыл бұрын
@@astranger271 one pound of feathers weighs more than one pound of steel because with the pound of feathers you also have the weight of the knowledge of what you did to all of those poor birds (no I do not mean this seriously)

The metal detectors really aren't that strong, they're designed to detect heavy solid metal, not small amounts. Which is why they don't pick up on piercings. I have 20 piercings and recently travelled and didn't take any of them out, and the detector didn't go off on me. So you'd be fine lol

It is wise to purchase things based on cost per use and not cost per bottle/iteam. For example toilet paper costs about 1 cents per foot (if you know where to look) . Most people are paying 30-70 cents per foot. That can be a difference of $150-$200 (or more) per year either saved or wasted. Imagine if you took the time to, only once, calculate - and to be simply aware of, how much everything you buy is costing you annually you can begin to make wiser purchases, creating a more accurate budget and potentially save up to a thousand dollars more per year, per person in the household. With foundation typically the cost is $40 per 1oz. Which is about $1 per ml. Dior Airflash is actually $2.60 per ml. Wow. Lets calculate cost per year. Dior Airflash vs regular liquid foundation you can find at sephora n such. An avg bottle of foundation should last 2-3 months.. A person will need to purchase about 5 bottles of liquid foundation per year. (maybe 4) If you purchase $40 bottle of liquid foundations that have 1oz of product your cost per year will be $200. Dior airflash only lasts 3 weeks. You will need 17 bottles for one year. Costing you $1207. By being aware of how many bottles you will use per year if you come across a clearance sale (my fave is if a store is going out of business), or back to school sale or a black friday sale, and your foundation is half off (or more) you can purchase 5 bottles and save $100 ! (every product you buy has a weekend or a month during every year is is always marked at a deep discount) (Makeup has an expiration date of a year (i think) so i would only reccomend buying a years worth. Anywhos. Being aware is awesome. and saves you a lot !!! Another makeup point is- Liquid lipstick. Jeffrey Star liquid lipstick has about 150 uses per bottle. If used daily you will need about 2 bottles per year. Costing you about $40year. . Lets go bigger. Why do people save money ? The avg person needs 1-5 million dollars in savings to retire. Depending on your lifestyle and location. At 1 million dollars in savings you could actually stop working a 9-5 and switch to bigger income or investing. So all of this savings basically adds up to = shaving off how many years you work for someone, deepening your retirement wallet or simply traveling more- or whatever your big life goals are :)

So I have a question about the science involved in your measurements. Volume and weight are not really the same thing. For example star power are rich bitch have the same amount of product, we could assume the machinery fills each pan to the same point. The only difference is the weight, which in this case would just be due to the different formulations of the eye shadows. So it's not that you have less star power that you do rich bitch, you just have a lighter formula. Right?
@therandomnessofautumn75408 жыл бұрын
Megan Strasburg I'm not quite sure if I understood your comment correctly, so I apologize if this doesn't answer your question. The amount a package states it has is the weight. Depending on the country's laws it may be a small percentage less. That is what they are testing is to see if each pan has at least the stated amount. Yes, the various differences will be due to formula. But the experiment is to make sure each pan contains at least the advertised amount.
@meganstrasburg37608 жыл бұрын
The Randomness of Autumn Oh yes I knew that's what they were testing, but for example when they say such and such has less product than this other pan, that is inaccurate. Because they all have the same amount, just varying weights.
@BEAUTYNEWS8 жыл бұрын
We were only testing weight (as that's the only thing we can test - that's what the palette is measured in) and they all ended up having different weights and also different volumes - some pans were almost half empty when repressing them and others were completely full. So no, they didn't have the same amount or weight at all, they were completely different!
