Thanks my friend. With snakes, I've never had any issues. In my area I have never seen a poisonous snake. We have plenty of black snakes, ring necks and garden snakes though. I usually see 2 a year. That's it.

Be careful those rocks can split and explode when they get too hot. They shoot like a bullet.

There is no reason to dig a hole for a fire....just surround it with rocks or logs if you want...and those Creek rocks? They can explode....

Harry Kuheim the reason for digging a hole is so you can have multiple fires before the ashes build up too much. It will be harder to cleanout if you just build up rocks around it without digging a hole.
