Phantastic! This will encourage many beekeepers to offer their bees a fabulous alternative to boxes. Congratulations!

An interesting and exciting film! Wonderful to see people caring for bees without any interference or varroacides. this is how bees should be...completely natural and free from the biggest predator...man. Well done John & Matt.

Very nice video. Good point on the saw tip kickback.

Seems like you could split the log lengthwise first so it would be much easier to hollow out; then re-join the 2 halves using bolts, or whatever.

Love the video. Just a quick question. Have you ever thought of burrowing hot iron rods or cylinders through the logs? Seems like it would save half a day to burn through first. Just a thought. Keep the videos coming awesome process!

How do you harvest honey from this type hive?

Interesting. How would you keep bears out of them? Not that you have to worry about them there.

this is a very good enviroment for bees, but how you collect the honey, you have to destroy the colony

I don't suppose you have plans on getting any of the honey? Looks like your solely interested in supporting the beehives.. Good job!!
