I used to think that too but they just used the same sample, im sure thousands of people have used that sample. but only a few of the beats got heard. one was j cole, one was bryson tiller and one was G money. if you listen to them they all sound different so nobody stole anything

If these dumb motherfuckers have the nerve to say he jacked it, y'all foolish as fuck. If Foreign Teck "stole" it, than so did J.Cole's producer. It's a fucking sample. How you gonna excuse him of stealing when it wasn't even original in Deja Vu? Xxxtentacion popped off with Look at me, but do you know Lil Dicky and many others has already sampled that song for the beat? (Changes by Mala) So many ignorant mf talking out their ass about nothing they know about. Smh.

For those who didn't know "Deja vu" was suppose to be on 2014 Forest Hills Drive but they decided not to add it because it wasn't going to fit the theme of the album. Basically "Deja vu" was created way before "Exchange".

Lyrical Mason what are the chances the sample will be the same pitch and near same tempo? I mean come on yes whenever you sample a real song there's a good chance someone else has used it before, but the chances of you changing that sample to the same pitch and tempo as another producer is very slim

Word From Willie doesn't mean it's true there's millions of beats on KZbin with this sample in it way before either one of them sampled it. So both of them are in the wrong fighting over someone else's music.
@WordFromWillie
@WordFromWillie 6 жыл бұрын
Quadry Holloman I understand what you mean however in this case I think its different. Vinylz presented enough reasonable information to lead to believe this producer stole this beat. In fact Vinylz has writing credits on this song even though he wasn’t involved and thats how they settled this. This wasn’t even just the same sample, this guy stole this beat. Really not cool.

There is a video on youtube of a producer called G Money who claimed that this beat was stolen by this producer. G Money initially did the beat back in 2013

Truly an art. If you’re gonna make music with this type of tech, do it with this much detail.

Some of ya'll must of forgotten that Charles Hamilton already had this sample on 'Brooklyn girls". But "Exchange" has more of a relaxing feel. I like both either way.

One of the better deconstructed episodes. Even address the Deja Vu similarities.

I have written bars to this beat. I am amazed by how he broke down the techniques because while writing you need to be aware of those small details 👑 A Genius

Producers are so smart, man. I love these kinds of videos. I seen a video around a year ago though that this dude supposably made this beat & it got stolen & even showed the time/date it was made & everything & the producer (forgot his name obviously) but he said the beat was originally called 'shawty so cold'. that's what he named it. But after seeing this, that dude completely was reaching for fame.

Y'all forgetting Charles Hamilton's "Brooklyn Girls" from 2009? Uses the same sample from K.P. & Envyi.
