Kathy Zelinski was the supervising animator, one of the few women animators at Disney...she did a fantastic job on Frollo. Scared the crap out of me as a kid. (she also helped animate Jafar).

annaknowsu I really didn't grip how serious this movie was when it was released. I think I was 3 or 4 when I saw it, so all those references to sexual frustration and vengeance flew right over my head. Saw a clip of Hellfire again last year, first time since I saw the movie as a kid, and Wow. That shit is DARK. It goes right down to the animation too, Especially during that sequence. Of course, I had to watch the whole movie again.

Tom Hulce is a blabbermouth. But better than Jeffery Jones (an actor who was not part of the cast). At least the latter was liked in "Stuart Little" while the former was liked in "Amadeus" and "Animal House".

@@KevinRivera-pg7ze By the early 2000s, 3D animation movies were getting more popular than 2D. It was new and nobody ever seen characters move like how 3D animation characters move! Remember Toy Story? It became a hit being the first computer animated movie. After that, Disney also experienced their own 3D animated movies; Dinosaur and Meet The Robinsons. By 2009 or 2010, they officially stopped making 2D animation movies since it wasn’t getting appreciated like before.

I only recently found out Tony Jay died, after I saw him as Chairface Chipendale in The Tick (he also played Magneto in X-Men Legends too by the way). It made me very sad to see this powerful and defining actor leave this life cause him as Frollo and other characters he played we're beyond memorable

Have you read the original fairytales that Disney's adapted? Most of them are much darker than their Disney counterparts. I've read "Notre Dame de Paris" by Victor Hugo and yes, Disney made many changes, but I didn't think they were that bad. Plus, this was the first version of the story I ever saw (I was eight when the film came out) and, as a teenager, I went on to read the book and now Victor Hugo is one of my favorite writers. So thanks to Disney for introducing me to him and his work.
