This must be why this movie is so phenomenal to look at compared to every other Disney movie. Not only was Disney alive to micro manage every tiny detail but actual models were used and studied as reference for the animation. There's an elegance to this movie and i can see the operatic and ballet inspirations. To this day i'm mesmerized watching this when i see the movement in the scenes - the way the hair bounces, the body language of the characters, the way the clothes move, the vivid backgrounds. That rotoscoping is incredible even today.

Disney's most stunning attempt at 2D animation. You are mesmerized by colours that ebb on in harmonic flow, only to be startled every here and there with the non-conformative art design, that just so happens to be inter-stellar.

I had the VHS tape, and I always stuck around for the end to see the process of the movie. I really wish Disney still did hand drawn animation. Good shit.

This movie sure does bring me back childhood memories, I loved Sleeping Beauty since I was kid, and I would still watch it to look back cause I feel like I'm getting old since I'm 22 it's ok too feel like a kid at heart. I still have this on VHS tape and I watch it every once in a while and still love it.

It's hard to believe that all of these classic Disney movies were actually "new" at one point: "Hey have you seen that new Disney movie, Sleeping Beauty? It's similar to the the other Disney films like Snow White and Cinderella."

They probably wanted to do an animated sequel of this masterpiece, but didn’t have the money or talent to pull it off, so they went for live action with an actor who barely resembles Maleficent. I”m tired of movies/shows that want to take us back in time to analyze why a villain became bad, such as “Wicked”. It takes all the mystery and fun out of it. But studios will do anything for a buck these days.

This is the first movie that I remember seeing. My cousin Judy took my older sister and me to see this in 1959; I was three-years-old. It is still my favorite Disney fairy tale. I think it was the beautiful backgrounds that have stayed in my mind all these years.

Sleeping Beauty cost so much $$ to make. There's so much beautiful artwork in the movie And Aurora's in the movie for less than 20 minutes. Sadly, it sucked. The story was very weak & it was more about the fairies than Aurora.
