Terry, that was an AWESOME Q&A! As always, I learned a ton! The podcast format is an excellent idea! Having Mr Soaps and Such, a.k.a. Mister Soapy, (do you remember Mr. Bubble bubble bath, or was that before your time?) , brings a lot of dimension to the conversation! In other words, that was really fun! That hour flew by! Thank you very much for answering all my questions. I have taken copious amounts of notes, and will try to incorporate all of it as I move forward. I have 20 pounds to rebatch, so the advice will come in handy! And this is where I thank you again for both the videos and for patiently answering all my questions this past year. I appreciate you so much, and I look forward to the next chapter in this soapy journey! Rocci will be so happy to have Mister Soapy joining in the fun, and I think a lot of the guys will as well. Well, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ! Time for you guys to go celebrate! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉You put so much work into that Q & A! (And btw the little faces when you put the bars sise-by-side were amazing weren't they?!) Have a happy week! 🌞💝🌞💝🌞

Thank you so much, my friend! We had a ball making that, so glad you & Rocci enjoyed it! I definitely remember Mr. Bubble, but alas, I could never use Mr. Bubble- as my skin sensitivities were there from the beginning. My mom tried so hard to recreate the look and experience of a real bubble bath that wouldn't cause me issues, but the products that are available now, with more mild surfactants, weren't on the market, back in my day! 🤣 Looking forward to teaching the guys- guess I have to get my act together now! Thanks again for everything- your support, feedback and friendship are treasured! 🥰❤

I think you both doing the videos is a great idea. The fact that besides you, Ms. Terry you mentioned my other two favorite melt and pour soap makers koala and Dean Wilson made me smile. But the fact you knew jerrica and her hubby from Canada and love them, makes me believe because the two of them work so well and Interact on some of her videos, that you two would do a great job doing some as well. Wonderful idea, and one I am voting for. 😘🥰

Enjoyed the Q&A! It was informative and the two of you are cute & funny. 👍🏾💕💕 LOVED the soaps you created during the Q&A! 👏🏾💕💕 Q1: Is this the new swirl technique you mentioned in your heat gun colors in an oval soap mold video? Q2: Approximately how long were you trying to wait in between your pours? I suppose it will vary by soap base type. Q3: Could you have used mica for the colors instead of the liquid color? I’ve only ever used Mad Mica’s mica colors not their neons or micas w/polyurethane. I’ve also only done two color swirls using Shea for white without fragrance and a translucent base with mica color & fragrance. Have never experienced any bleeding.
@msTsoap7 ай бұрын
Thank you! We've had a lot of fun doing these together! This isn't a new swirl, just a take on the Acorn Swirl. I'd have to go back and watch to see what I'm referencing, but it's probably my marbling technique. If you check out my pink marble soap or Caribbean sunset soap, those both use that technique- also marbled galaxy and my nebula soaps. It really does vary by soap type and seasonal temperatures. It's supposed to be 10-15 minutes before adding the second layer, or when a pencil eraser "bounces back" from the soap- I used the end of my silicone spatula, because it's a similar texture and softness. Second layer is supposed to be a bit less, but the same "bounce". Basically a thick skin. I usually wait a little too long and get this chunky effect- which I also really like, LOL. I usually use mica, not Zenicolor- which does NOT bleed- that's why I used it instead of liquid. I just wanted to play with it in a swirl. I don't use liquid for swirls due to the bleeding. Thanks for watching and for the questions! ❤🥰

Beautiful soap! Thank you! I have Zeni colorants too. Can we use as much as we want, until achieving a deep colour? It woon't bleed or affect the skin?
@msTsoap9 ай бұрын
According to the package, you can add enough to achieve the desired shade. There were no specific skin safety warnings or other warnings. I would just advise that you keep in mind the amount of recommended additives for your brand of soap base. I used a LOT in this soap, way more than I normally do, and it all behaved really well.

Do you have any tips for adding herbs and florals into them to prevent them from getting slimmy
@msTsoap6 ай бұрын
My best tip is don't add herbs and florals. 😥 Sadly, most botanicals will rot in melt and pour soap and can be very dangerous to use for anyone with sensitivities to mold, mildew, etc. You can use a few things, but most of the time people using flowers/herbs in soap are making cold processed soap. It can take a while to rot in MP, so many people get pictures before they turn and that's what you see them post, you'll even see stunning pics on pinterest, but they never show a month later "after" pics. Calendula petals and blue cornflower (true blue cornflower, not dyed) are ok for MP, no herbs. Some other botanical materials that usually work are oats (rolled, old fashioned, colloidal, but NOT instant or quick), dry coffee grounds, poppy seeds, apricot seed powder, black walnut hull powder, luffa, sea sponges, and that's all I can think of off the top of my head. You can also add clays and activated charcoal. Keep in mind, companies encouraging this are usually also selling the botanicals. I hope this helps. 🥰

I am not brave enough to make videos yet.. 😅 They do last quite awhile and I leave mine in the shower all the time. I use the Triple Butter base and the Goat’s Milk base (Crafters Choice) and I have two 4 ounce soaps that are over 3 months old and still lather well and smell great 👍🏻

Do I need to add preservative with melt and pour?
@msTsoap6 ай бұрын
No, it is preserved due to the pH level of soap. Just avoid adding things like flowers (except calendula petals or blue cornflower petals). Most botanicals will rot, even if you add a preservative. You can use certain types of oatmeal/oats, coffee grounds, poppy seeds, clays, luffa, sea sponges, salts (not Epsom, though), sugar, among other things, but take the time to learn about types and amounts. Hope this helps you! 🥰

How do you wrap your soaps other than shrink wrap?
@msTsoap3 ай бұрын
I prefer to use Cling Wrap/Saran Wrap. It's more time consuming and tedious, but I feel like I have more control over what I'm doing. I still occasionally use a heat gun to take up a tiny bit of slack in certain areas, but I mostly just stretch it tightly over the soap and use a small piece of clear heavy duty tape on the back. Kind of like wrapping a present, but stretching it tightly. Thanks for watching! 🥰
