this would be a longer reaction video but i think you guys would really enjoy watching her documentary. it’s SO eye opening. so inspiring. it follows her from the beginning up until her first grammy wins. and it’s a no b/s doc. it’s real footage, real emotion, real behind the scenes content that is unlike any other musician documentary i’ve ever seen. she literally had people following her entire life with cameras for years.

fun fact: she couldn't eat that pretzel cause it was super hard so she couldn't take a bite. They had to record late it was filmed overnight and this stuff was laying there all day. Also this was recorded during covid (song was out nov 2020) so it was just her, her mom a a few members of her team there. It was also one of the first mv shot exclusively with an iPhone, I think k they used her mom's phone if im not mistaken.

This was done during Covid and was shot basically on an iPhone, just chased around in a shut down mall. She released her second album right before Covid hit so her music videos and live performances were very toned down and unique because of the precautions put in place. I think you’d like ‘Your Power’ and ‘Xanny’ both have unique music videos and a mix of practical effects with cgi, as well as fantastic lyrics with deep stories behind them.

@@jonovanvaldez7548 When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Was released at the start of 2019, so she had a little over year of success with that before Covid lockdown. A few things were cut short due to lockdown, the second leg of her world tour for her first album ended up being an online concert in October of 2020. But her second album, Happier Than Ever was written, recorded and released mid Covid in 2021. The song Therefore I Am and accompanied music video is from her second album, hence the low budget style, because it was filmed during the height of the pandemic.

Man, I love that you guys aren't going through her stuff linearly. It's fun getting to go back and forth from the Billie of now that's more confident in herself and her abilities, back to the green hair Billie that was just gaining that confidence and was using it to push back at the parts of being famous that suck. I love that Billie, the angsty kid who didn't care about clapping back at shitty people who didn't matter then and matter even less now. I love her just as much as I love the Billie we have now who is growing into adulthood and realizing that it isn't worth it to give those people your attention or energy. She's really special and even though I wish I could have had her when I was a teenager I also like having the maturity of my 30s to experience her journey through.

I’m 37. literally so much older than billie. But her music and lyrics is so relatable to my life story it’s kinda crazy. the older dude who seduced me when I was 14, his aim screen name was ithinkthere4iam. he thought he was so cool.
