I was 16 in ‘66 when this hit the charts. This was the California vibe all the way in spades. Mama Cass had perfect pitch and what an amazing voice. She was the backbone. The wrecking Crew played all the background instruments… Carol Kane was the bass. Epic song of an era gone by. Yes this was an out growth of the Coffee House scene and evolution of the folk music vibe.

Corey, Fenom and Olli, you guys said you wanted to go down the *Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)* rabbit hole, but it's been 7 weeks since you reacted to, *"Livin' Thing",* and you've not returned to the band. So here's another song from that same awesome concert at Wembley in London from 2017. It's at nighttime, so it'll give you a different look - Jeff Lynne is known for his great light/laser shows! The song, which in 1976 hit #7 in the US, #8 in the UK, and #1 in Canada, is called, *"Telephone Line".* You fellas will love it! Here it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnyonZ5vr7l1ZpY

Now that you've heard the original version of this classic song, PLEASE check out the Lee Moses (RIP)cover of it. He was a R&B artist back in the early 70s from Atlanta. He slows it down and puts his heart and soul into the vocals. Even if you don't react to it, give it a listen. Same for your viewers. Y'all will really enjoy it.

But Chynna does believe it so I dunno.

John Phillips had three daughters from different marriages/relationships: the eldest one, Mackenzie Phillips, is an actress. Chynna Phillips, John & Michelle's daughter, was a singer of Wilson Phillips, a trio (the other two girls are Bruce Wilson's daughters, from The Beach Boys). The youngest one, Bijoux Phillips, is an actress and until last september was married with the actor Danny Masterson from The '70 show. Mama Cassie released a version of "Dream a little dream of me". What a wonderful voice ❤

Yes, the guy in the fur hat wanted to adapt folk to the beats of the 60s!!
@MrSmartAlec8 ай бұрын
There was a lot of drama taking place in this group. John (tall guy in furry hat) was married to Michelle Phillips (blonde). Cass Elliot was in love with Denny Dougherty (soloist in this song) but it was unrequited. Denny and Michelle had an affair. John had a daughter, McKenzie Phillips, from his previous marriage. John dumped his first wife to marry Michelle. There are disturbing tales of an incestuous relationship between John and his daughter McKenzie as well as massive drug use. Despite all this they burned brightly and made a lot of great music in a short time.

That Monterrey Music Festival is iconic. The Who flipped a coin to decide who would go on last. Pete Townshend said there was no way they were going on after Hendrix. The Who was technically the headliner that night but chose to go on before Hendrix. That is the infamous scene of Hendrix lighting his guitar in fire on stage. Mama Cass said to Pete that Hendrix was stealing their show. Pete said no, he is doing our show.
